We-4 kids (20 and 18 year old girls and 15 and 13 year old boys), my fiance and myself are taking a long awaited Disney trip August 15 to August 21. We have been to Disney before but it has been about 4 years, so lots to see. We are definitely return to the resort to chill and enjoy the resort type of people at noon to about 3:30 people, then stay at the parks until they close. We will have park hoppers. Our favorite parks are all of them except Holleywood studeos but we are planning one evening there too. The split stay would be 2 nights at French quarter and 4 nights at yacht club. Our switch day to yacht club would be an Epcot Day not sure if that matters. I've stayed at Yacht club and loved it! Never been to French quarter, but I think it's beautiful. We would save $900 just going with French quarter for the entire trip. We have done split stays in the past and didn't mind a bit. What do you think? Is a $900 savings worth it for all French quarter? Also we will not have a car. Most importantly, this is a celebration of the 18 year old's graduation and she will be going off to college in September.

French Quarter is a beautiful resort. It is my very favorite Moderate resort because it is small. You have access to both pools at POFQ and Riverside and there is a boat to Disney Springs.

Yacht Club is easy walking distance to Epcot and Hollywood Studios and convenient which makes for easy afternoon breaks.

I say to split the savings and split the stay as 3 and 3. Make your Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom and Disney Springs visits during your POFQ stay and your EPCOT and HS stays and extra MK during your Yacht Club stay.

Have loads of fun!

French Quarter is my favorite resort of ALL resorts I've tried. I have stayed at Beach Club but not Yacht. Part of me says FQ all the way. But, you are going in August. It's going to be super hot when you guys take your resort break and it would be nice to spend some time in Stormalong Bay. That would be the only thing that would sway me towards spending the extra for YC.

Both are great resorts. YC has the best pool on property and so many dining options, with the restaurants at YC/BC, The Boardwalk, and Epcot in your back yard. And being able to walk to 2 parks.
If it won’t be a financial hardship I’d stick with your split.
Some of our fav attractions are at DHS, R&R coaster, ToT, TSMM, Star-tours.... and SciFi diner is a fun meal.

This!

French Quarter is our favorite of the ones we have stayed at, but we have never stayed at YC or BC. We are doing our first BC stay in October. However, for only $900 more I would do the split stay. We like to experience more than one hotel on a trip if we can.
