My mom, my little boy (20 months at the time), and I are going to WDW in early December! It's my mom's first trip and we are so excited!!

We are staying in a two bedroom villa at the WL on points rented from a DVC member. The price is awesome and we are so excited about all the room, the kitchen, washer and dryer - especially with the baby. We have the villa Sunday through Friday. We really wanted to stay Saturday through Saturday, but the points for weekend nights were too expensive.

So, we decided to add one night before and one night after at either French Quarter or Riverside. We are planning on using those days to do lots of Christmas shopping at Downtown Disney. We want to be able to ride the boat back and forth, since my little guy LOVES boats. That's why we are choosing between those two.

I've stayed at both and enjoyed them, but not that time of year. I'm wondering which one has more Christmas decorations, a more festive holiday feel, etc. Any thoughts?

DH and I stayed at Riverside last December. (It was the trip we got engaged.)

The tree was beautiful in the center of the lobby, and there were wreaths and garland everywhere. One morning (we were taking our time through breakfast and to the parks) we caught a singing choir doing carols outside of the food court (by the dock). It was wonderful, and SO in the Holiday Spirit. That same trip, we visitied Boardwalk (one of our favorite Disney places) and saw a different singing group while there, so the singing thing wasn't just a Riverside thing.

I don't know what FQ was like, we didn't get there that trip, I think they were closed for renovations then.

Whichever resort you choose, it's only a short (and peaceful) walk between them, so you could always stroll over and see the other's decorations, too!

We satyed at POFQ at Christmas and it was really beautiful. The decorations were very festive, Santa Claus came on Christmas Eve, there were carols, a present on our door handle on Christmas morning. I would highly recommend staying there.

That's the way we looked at it when making reservations at Riverside for Dec 23 & 24 this year. Just because you are in one resort doesn't mean you can't look at all the others.
