French Market will be converted into Tiana's Palace restaurant in 2023

Well that's the plan if the Disneyland Tomorrow project happens. A Frozen and Tangled area along with others. Retheming the French Market doesn't really bother me. It fits in with the land and the remake of Splash Mountain. There's still 2 original restaurants left in New Orleans Square.

Well, I mentioned this once in the discussion of the change from Splash to Princess and the Frog, but I would love it if they'd throw in a few nods to an old Disney movie that my kids loved when they were little, The Rescuers. I think there could be a few things from Devil's Bayou incorporated, even if in a very small way.

Sweet! They have something Tiana themed.., now they can leave splash mountain alone.

That would be awesome! I loved that movie when it came out.

We need a Snuggly Duckling Tavern!

No, we do not. I find that part of the movie SO annoying. I'd run away from this concept so fast...

At least this Tiana's Place retheme is just window dressing, basically. It won't fundamentally change the restaurant, which I think is good. The last thing we need is another overpriced sit down restaurant in Disneyland.

Ha ha! I loved that part.

Anything in Disneyland will arguably be overpriced. I personally like sit-down and think there's plenty of QS, but I consider Market House, Ranch del Zocalo, Plaza Inn, etc more hybrid restaurants that offer a nice dining venue with self-serve elements. I'm good with that. I just don't want all fast food and no service.

It would be really nice if they had more sit down places that were moderately priced IMO, but those seem to have gone away.

Also love me some snuggly duckling! :)

I also like the idea of adding in sanfransokyo as the current area is bland and too 'every day'. You can go to dozens of old wharfs in the US and even in Cali; I'd rather have something fun and out of the ordinary personally, especially if they theme it was well as they did Cars Land.

My 3 year old loves it too and makes us listen to it over and over again. She even hands us little toys to tap together like the unicorns.

I agree about the Wharf retheme. It's an odd choice for sure and although I liked it a lot, Big Hero 6 is NOT a popular enough IP to justify this level of inclusion in the parks. The only thing I can think of is that this is an attempt to draw in the local Asian demographic more, because it is more popular in Japan and Asian countries in general.
Whoa, they're retheming Pacific Wharf? They aren't taking away Boudin, are they???

I HATE this plan as it is most likely going to have to take out something existing. They haven't said yet what that will be, but I would hate to see them take out some/all of the Boudin bread factory, Pacific Wharf Cafe, or Ghirardelli for a (IMO stupid) Baymax meet-and-greet. I agree with DLgal and don't really understand the logic of this move.

No, they are adding "San Fransokyo" theming to the area from the movie Big Hero 6. It's basically just like San Francisco except with a heavy Japanese influence. Boudin would fit right in. They may change the Chinese place to Japanese, but the Mexican would fit in too as one of the characters is hispanic (Honey Lemon) and in the cartoon show they loved to eat at "Yaki Taco" and also "Noodle Burger" - fusion style cuisines. I actually don't think they plan to change all that much other than adding some of the San Fransokyo skyline.

It's just a re skin of the area. Nothing will fundamentally change.

They might rename a few of the restaurants and the margarita kiosk to better fit the theme. I mean, I can't imagine it will still be called "Pacific Wharf Cafe" and "Rita's Baja Blenders."

Next they should re-theme Autopia to “Princess Jasmine’s Futuristic Driving Adventure”. Then they can turn Alien Pizza Planet into that fruit stand that Jasmine takes an apple from.. the old carousel of progress building could even become the Agrabah bazaar. I would like them to eventually turn every major attraction in to princess IP… but that’s just me. 😀

Yeah, thinking about it, they could have Noodle Burger or Yaki Taco, and basically offer the one themed item, and the rest be typical Mexican and Asian food. They could also use Lucky Cat Cafe. Pacific Wharf is popular and I doubt they change the offerings much. The sourdough will not go away.

I think this would have been a better retheme for Splash Mountain tbh. Can you imagine going through like you are trying to escape Madame Medusa and Brutus and Nero and at the end they are captured and you have the swamp folks there cheering for you with the "fireworks" going off?

THAT would be awesome!! Sadly, I don't think very many people even know that movie anymore. I still tear up when I watch it, and I still love it, even if it IS very dated and, well, perhaps a tad sexist. But wow, what a voice character lineup!

Naw. Splash “Mountain” is basically the perfect setting for a ride that claims to be a “Bayou Adventure”. They probably should have just kept the name splash mountain regardless of the retheme… I think a lot of people will continue to call it that anyway.

Yeah, it could have remained a "mountain" - maybe Tiana's Journey to Spalsh Mountain or just "Splash Mountain featuring Tiana." That would have been fine.

Choice B

The furniture of the Disneyland mountains:

- Splash Mountain: Princess Tiana's Bayou Adventure
- Space Mountain: Princess Jasmine’s Desert Adventure
- Thunder Mountain: Pocahontis’s Great Plains Adventure
- Matterhorn Mountain: Snow White’s Forest Adventure

It all make’s perfect sense, to a mad man.
