Thinking of decorating my kitchen and bedroom in the french country theme.
Any ideas as to where to start?? Right now my kitchen has old vinatge french liquor prints and a bistro look. I am going to change the floor and countertops to a stone/granite. I am thinking of a butter yellow on the walls.
As for the bedroom.....I was thinking of a butter yellow as well for the walls. I have a hodge podge of furniture in there...mostly inherited.
The headboard is a gold leaf king size headboard...its an antique. The other furnitur is a dark maple?? So...any ideas? Has anyone else decorated in the french country style??? If you know of any resources please let me know!!

Thanks!!

There are a ton of finished kitchens on www.finishedkitchens.blogspot.com

When I think of French Country, I think of peg hooks on walls, toile fabrics, beadboard under the chair rail on the walls, etc.

It seems like Better Homes and Gardens has a decoration by style portion on their website...try www.bhg.com

That's all I can think of at the moment. If I remember anything else, I'll tell you!

tinkerrn,
The best French country resource around here (NYC) is Pierre Deux. They can be pricey, but they have some great ideas and beautiful things. Their website is www.pierredeux.com. Have fun decorating!

Behr has a paint called Melted Butter. I used it and I love it. I can send you a pic if you want.
