OMG, you have your heat set to SEVENTY FIVE??? You are my HERO.... I live in the Northeast and it is the absolute pits :( I despise the cold like you have no idea... Once the kids are finished with school, I'm outta here, whether or not DH wants to go.. I'll see him over summers! :teeth:
What a great idea! I'll join you!!! Where shall we settle!?

It's been cold and foggy here for about a week...today, the fog is gone but it is raining! It would help my outlook if we had a weatherman that could actually predict the correct weather!!

Yes, I did have the heat at 75. Right now it's off because crazy dh is enjoying the 58 degree weather and has the doors and windows open. I may just go back to bed and get warm....and since I'm always sleepy.;)

Sleepyone, your DH must be nuts like mine! He LIKES the snow... he is just crazy!! I need 85 & sunny thank you so much!!

SEVENTY FIVE :( I have my heat at 71 & I'm in a turtleneck, thermal socks & sweatpants with a blanket... BLECH... I did just find out that we might have snow Saturday afternoon/night, just in time for DD's birthday  such luck...

Mtbluejeans, that sounds great! I was thinking of settling in Oahu, Hawaii, I still think Florida is too cold a state during the winters!!!

It is a chilly day in San Antonio but the sky is blue, sun is shining :sunny: and the air crisp....Yes, my tootsie's are a bit cold but I will take this over the 104* of a few weeks ago. :cool1:

Oh Yeaaaahhh! :sunny:

:rotfl: 59° and your heat is on 75° :rotfl: Around here we think 59 is slightly warm for this time of year. In a few months we'll be wishing it was 59°

I always joke to my DH that living in the South thins people's blood. If it gets below 60 degrees here, we start dragging out the coats!

In college in Tennesee, I had a roommate who was from Pennsylvania (by the Great Lakes). She thought we were nuts when we began to crank the heat if it got below 60 outside. She felt like 60 degrees was still "laying out in the sun" weather!

It is.
I think we would die if we kept our heat set at 75. Not only because the house was too hot, but because of the oil bill :earseek: We keep it at 68 throughout the winter, although we will turn it up briefly to 72 or so if we've just come in and are really cold. But that generally doesn't happen until we get the three solid weeks of negative 30 windchills that we've gotten the last couple of Januaries. I'm not making fun of the southerners, just telling it like it is. I could never live there (and because I think hot weather is death, have the utmost respect for those who can tolerate it). Summer here = 2 months of hell. And that's simply because it's too hot. I'd take winter year round if I could. My blood is probably as thick as it comes; one of my college roommates right now is a Mainer. She's cold more often than I am :rotfl:

Monarchsfan, I am sorry, I have to put you in the same category as my DH!!! I do not know why he married me, I've NEVER liked the cold & I've always turned the heat up to 71, and sometimes beyond that.... he's roasting and I am still freezing...

Makes for an interesting winter, as winter is 8 months out of the year!

I guess it's what you're used to (to an extent).

I had a college roommate (NOT the one in my tag :teeth: ) whose parents were missionaries in Africa. When it got down to 75-78 outside they would wear long sleeves. She said they thought her mom was a terrible parent for letting her and her brother play outside in shorts in the "cold weather". :rotfl:

Laurie :)

it must get way colder up in humble than down here in the loop!! ;) Yes it's been chilly, but perfect sleeping weather, all nice and bundled up....the problem is that while it's chilly at night now, it's still too hot in the afternoon to not need the ac....

It always makes me laugh when I hear people from the south saying that 50 is cold. Man, a couple winters ago we had wind chills that made it feel like below zero temperatures!!

It's going to be quite interesting when winter rolls around. My sister has a roommate who's from Tampa, and a while ago when it hit 50 (it was in the evening) she thought it was so cold. She even asked my sister if it got any colder here. :earseek: :earseek: :earseek:

:rotfl2: I feel your pain.. I live in Texas also and freeze every morning.. It seems like its cold to me if its under 75 :goodvibes

You got that right we think 60 degrees is cold to us. I work outside today it was 61 degrees. I was in long sleeve shirt, T-shirt, pants, fleece jacket, and coat and I still was cold.

I think anything below 70 degrees is cold. I have the heat set 70 on auto. It's still October i suppose be in shorts and t-shirt. Something wrongs with the weather it's to cold outside right now.

I'm freezing in NY! It's about 40 outside and 65 in the house. I refuse to turn on the heat yet. I can't wait to be in (hopefully)warm florida!

It was 40 degrees here this morning. I've had a thermal blanket and the feather tick on the bed the last two nights. Boy, does that feel perfect! But it's still only October. Last week we were complaining because it was hot and 80 degrees in October. This week we're complaining because it's too cold for October. LOL! Stay warm!

Yes, I've had the heat on all ready. :cold:
