Has anyone ever tried freezing a carton of orange juice? If so, was it any good after it thawed? My other concern is that the carton might blow-up and I will have orange juice slush all over the freezer. :rotfl2: Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If I needed to freeze OJ - I would put it in a ziplock bag, and not leave it in the original container (I have several issues with the original container - one is it might break open due to the expansion of the liquid, the other is if the container would give the OJ a funny taste."

I would also be concerned about freezer burn if using the original container.

I often freeze it and never had any problems at all. Actually my balcony in the winter time becomes a freezer and orange juice it there. The juice tastes just as good as if it wasn't frozen and the carton never exploded either. that being said, the longer I've had it frozen for was about a month be cause my girls love their orange juice LOL

I've frozen mine every summer when going camping. I freeze milk and OJ. I always pour off a bit and drink it before freezing ... just so the carton or jug doesn't expand and 'explode'. :thumbsup2

Lots of people freeze milk and oj. I wouldn't take it out of the carton. It will be fine. The carton may expand a tad bit, but it will be fine and will taste just fine as well. :thumbsup2

We buy both OJ and milk when they are on sale and freeze them until needed.

Ibuy 8 jugs at Costco freeze them only had problem once but that was my daughter dropped it

I do it all the time and never had the container explode.

Thank you everyone for your replies. I am off to the freezer now. It will not have to be frozen long. I am just being paranoid because the expiration date is fairly soon.

Didn't even know this is possible! I'm so excited. Next time milk or OJ is on sale I will buy extra and freeze. It is so expensive full price! Strange the things I get excited about.
