Last year we had a problem with our freezer, it is a fridge freezer, and we had to pay £80 to get it fixed, basically the freezer had stopped freezing. We had a new kitchen put in by MFI (about 3 years ago) and wanted the fridgefreezer to be integrated, and we went with their own brand. Well we were disapointed with it, because it wasn't as big as our original fridgefreezer.

Anyway, last night DD Laura says I can hear a beep coming from the kitchen, and when we went to investigate it was the fridgefreezer alarm because the freezer temperature was rising. It is normally about -18C and it had gone to -11C. I had a feeling it was going wonky again as stuff in the freezer has been covered in frost and ice lately, and it is supposed to be a frost free one. I pressed a button marked 'super' even though I have never really knew what this button is for, and none of the literature supplied really explains it either, so now the freezer temperature is showing as -34C !! So luckily stuff in the freezer (and it is pretty full) is still frozen, but it obviously needs fixing again. To be honest I think I would rather buy a new one, not integrated, but that means I will have to have a bit of alteration work done to take the cupboard out and shorten the plinth, what a pain. Just hope it doesn't pack in altogether.:scared1:

:sad2: i hope your freezer keeps going till it can be replaced,it may be worth keeping your food levels as low as possible so if it suddenly gives up then you wont lose to much food

:confused3 hope your freezer is ok my t.v blew up on christmas day:confused3

OMG, that is awful. Poor you. Are you going to treat yourself to one of those big plasma screen ones, I think you should, just for consolation purposes.

Hoping the freezer will hold out until New Years Eve, when all the party food will come out to be eaten, (not that I'm having a big party as such, just us 4and my Dad, but I usually do a buffet for us all). If we try to eat anything else in there between now and then it should be mostly empty after that.

Fingers crossed.:headache:

It seems to be behaving itself for now, but the repair guy said that I should run down the freezer and the fridge, switch everything off and leave it standing for 24 hours with the doors open. He reckons that one of the flues is blocking with ice and that this will clear it. So I am planning to do this on Tuesday.

You know that saying that everything comes in three's, well it does. After the freezer decided to play up, we then discovered that there is a leak in the u-bend under the sink, but DH will be able to fix that, got a bowl under it for now, it's not too bad. Then today, DH was cutting DS's hair with the clippers when they stopping working halfway through. DH had to go to Argos quick and get some new ones so we could finish the job.

Hoping that's it for now, I hate it when things stop working. I was telling a friend from work, and she said that in the last 3 weeks her boiler had gone, and the kettle and the iron had needed replacing too.!!! See what I mean about threes.:lmao:

OMG the clippers must have been a nightmare:rotfl2: did you take a photo of the half done job:lmao:
