Somehow the outlet our chest freezer is plugged into got tripped and was turned off. I don't know when this happened. The problem is that it is FULL of meat...meat that was starting to defrost. The centers are all still frozen but some definately have a 'give' to them.
Do I refreeze? Cook it all and freeze it? There is about 9lbs of ground beef. 2 roasts, a bunch of steaks, a chicken, 10lbs of chicken breasts.
I know consertative people will say toss but it really is cold like it has been in a fridge defrosting for a few hours. The stuff that wasn't right on the top of bottom is still frozen solid so are the soup and gumbo I had frozen in ziplocks.
What the deal on refreezing partially unfrozen meat?
