Freeze the Night - Ending April 12

So far, the only things with an officially listed end date are Freeze the Night (4/12) and Olaf's Snow Fest (4/30). The Sing-Along is supposed to end sometime in mid-May; before the start of thee 60th anniversary. Given that A&E are still very popular, it seems unlikely that their M&G would be ending anytime in the near future. My guess is that A&E will continue to meet until the demand drops off and/or the next princess is introduced. Additionally, I wouldn't be surprised if Olaf is some how added to the Animation Building area so that he can continue to greet guests after the snow fest area closes.

Oh, that's just great. I was literally just talking to my daughter about Freeze the Night this morning and how much fun it was going to be when we arrive i two weeks. Oh, well. :(

Originally it sounded like Freeze the Night was going to end in mid-May, just before the 60th anniversary, but in hindsight that doesn't seem possible. DLR already announced that Mad T Party would be returning for the start of the 60th, so they'll need time to change over from Freeze the Night to Mad T Party. It took about a month to go from Mad T Party to Freeze the Night, so I would guess that's why Freeze the Night is ending this weekend...so they have about a month to transition back to Mad T Party.

I hadn't heard anything about the end date for Freeze the Night until last night when I saw it posted on Disneyland Today's facebook page. I'm sorry that you'll miss seeing it, but hopefully you'll find other fun things to do in its place!

So this probably means that those of us going at the end of the month won't get Freeze the Night or Mad T Party. Great. I wish they would have been clearer at announcing this stuff. They made it sound like all this was going on till mid may.

What makes you think the Sing Along is ending? There has been no word, and they practically gutted the theater and tore out the Muppet décor. I don't think it's going anywhere for a while.

When the original announcements about Frozen Fun came out, it had an end date of May 15, 2015. The Parks Blog post does say: "“For the First Time in Forever – A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration” is planned to run through at least May 15, 2015. Muppet*Vision 3D is expected to return at some point in the future." So far, there hasn't been any official announcement either way about how long the Sing Along will continue beyond the May 15th (it is showing up on the calendar through the May 17th at this point). They'll probably waiting to see how popular it is after the 60th stuff starts and Frozen Fun official ends.

At this point, the only things with an announced end date are Olaf's Snow Fest and Freeze the Night. It's possible that the Sing Along will continue after the end of Frozen Fun, along with the Wanna Draw a Snowman and other activities in the Animation Building. At this point, based on responses in the Parks blog post, is that A&E will continue to meet guests in the Animation Building after Frozen Fun ends and Olaf will continue to meet guests (location unknown).

I really hope AA starts to offer more than just the snowmen. I really love stopping by there in the afternoons and seeing who I can draw in the upcoming show. I really miss the variety and the Animation building is the perfect place to "chill out" on a hot afternoon.

I'm not positive, but I thought that the last time I was there, it wasn't just Olaf. I think I remember seeing other Frozen characters on the list of characters that they draw.

I agree. I don't think the Sing-A-Long is going anywhere, anytime soon. They put quite a bit of work into the makeover on that theatre and the Muppets wasn't pulling in even close to as many visitors as the A and E show. They will probably make some "Due to popularity" announcement soon and extend the show. My guess anyway.

The frozen stuff can stay in the Animation Building, I just wish they would put the Zoetrope in there somewhere. I just love watching that thing.

I'm kind of bummed about this. It began about a week after our last trip there, so we missed it then, and our return trip is in June. I, for one, can't get enough Frozen!

I posted when we got back from our trip last month, but it probably got buried.

This is all RUMOR, since we only heard it from a CM as we were leaving the Frozen area, but here is what we were told.

E&A meet and greet was staying
Frozen sing-a-long was staying
Freeze the Night & Olaf's Snow Fest would be closing for the 60th, but would be back later in the year as part of the holiday entertainment. However Olaf would still have a meet & greet, location is yet to be determined.

That's what I've been saying. The zoetrope is one of the most amazing things in all of DLR, and it perfectly demonstrates the art of animation. So what do they do? They unceremoniously booted it out in favor of a meet and greet with princesses from an overrated movie.

We drew Mickey this past weekend. I should say that I attempted to draw Mickey. LOL! My daughter was given the artist's drawing! We were so excited. We're going to frame it.

Most of this seems consistent with what has been "official" announced by the Parks Blog, so it sounds like those CMs were right! The only things really up in the air is for how long the Sing Along will remain (when is the next Muppets movie or TV series due out?) and whether any of it will be back in the winter.

Last I read, the Parks Blog has said that Mad T Party Diamond Edition will remain throughout the 60th anniversary festivities. Assuming the 60th festivities last through the holidays at least, that would indicate Freeze the Night is not coming back. Honestly, I'm not surprised if Freeze the Night doesn't return; Mad T Party always looked like it had quite large alcohol sales (and therefore revenue) whereas there seemed to be far less alcohol being sold at Freeze the Night. I stopped by Freeze the Night several nights during the start of the peak Spring Break period and it seemed pretty quite in the area. The drink kiosks rarely had more than 1 or 2 people in line, which was a marked contrast to Mad T Party. So it wouldn't surprise me if Freeze the Night bows out this weekend and doesn't return in the future (or maybe they'll incorporate elements of it into Mad T Party in the winter).

When we were in there on Monday, they were drawing Olaf at 1:00 and Captain Jack Sparrow at 2:00.

We went to the Animation Academy today and sketched Olaf, Jack Skellington and Phineas & Ferb (we went in three times in a row). The CM we spoke to said they had a line-up of 12 different characters to sketch that day. This was the first time we did AA, and we loved it!

Yay! You have made my day! Back over Christmastime it was just Olaf and Marshmallow, all day, every day. I so hope we'll be there for a Jack Skellington class.
