OK, it's been a year since I've made the drive from Phoenix to Anaheim.

Last time we took the 10 to 60 to 91...the 60/215/91 interchange was a MESS! Is that construction done yet? Would it just be easier to stay on 10 till IT connects with 91? I know I drove home that way once...accidentally :rolleyes1 . It may be farther in miles but will it be easier as far as stress goes? We will be driving on THIS Saturday, mid-day.

Yes the 60/215/91 interchange is still under construction and a mess. The 10 and 91 fwy don't connect. You can either stay on the 10 to the 15 Fwy South to the 91 or take the 10 to the 57 Fwy.

I would personally take the 10 to the 57, which will take you to Anaheim (this is how we go from San Bernardino County). You exit the 57 at either Ball Rd or Katella and go west. The 91 Fwy can be very bad traffic wise and the 57 is usually much better (and has a carpool lane).

Will we have to worry about this coming from the John Wayne Airport or traveling to Hollywood from Anaheim?

When we went to WDW, the Orlando highway system was a total mess...the very worst part of our vacation.

Just about every time we go to Cali,I remember the words of Walt Disney," D/L",,er "the freeways will never be finished,as long as there is traffic and congestion left in the world".:rolleyes1

I am going from PHX to Dland in June. I posted a similar question a month back or so.

Someone who just went to DLand posted me a pm, basically saying to take the 10 to the 57 and then down. She said the other way was a NIGHTMARISH mess (Mapquest)

Just FYI... and I think it was so nice of her to remember my post and pm me too~

Im not sure how much extra that other way adds but we just did the 91 thing last week. we drove from El Mirage (West of Phoenx) on Wednesday after work. We was at the 91 interchange about 8:30 and was not too bad. We had some criss cross traffic twice but other than that it was not so bad. Then we came home Mothersday and was through there about 4PM. Again it was not so bad. I think the trick is to be there off times. we also take the 91 all the way to Harbor. Its only 3 miles down the road once we get off on Harbor.

Our path has always been 10 to 60 to 91. We got about every 2 to 3 months too. It takes 5 1/2 hours to drive if we dont do a lot of stopping other than restroom breaks.

If you are coming from John Wayne Airport, you will not have to deal with that particular interchange, it is out in Riverside. It is a mess, believe me, I drive it everyday to and from work.

Thanks everyone. Since time isn't an issue, I think I'll do the 10 all the way to 57. I have a friend who's driving down tomorrow and I think that's the route she always uses (though I was sure she said 10 to 91, then to 57).

I think last year when I did the interchange from heck, it was on a Friday afternoon/evening, which I'm sure made it even nastier!

I'm the friend! :goodvibes

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I used to always go through Riverside (10,60,91) but last time did the the 10 to 57 and liked it much better. I think it may be a little longer mile-wise, but it just seemed easier.
