For those who do freecycle, isn't it amazing on what some people "want"..So I come down to my computer this morning and go to Freecycle, as I always do . Somebody posted a want for Disney passes or Disney dollars. A lady posted they wanted to go to Disney but could not afford the passes, and did anybody have any Disney passes that did not expire that she could have? :rotfl2:
OMG...didn't that lady know Disney passes are like gold. Im sorry, we have 4 passes with at least 2 days on it. Im not sure when we are going back( I know we are in the next couple of yrs), but I certainly would not give them away on freecycle. I wanted to write back to this person and say "ARE YOU KIDDING"....
I thought all you Disney people here would get a kick out of that.

Besides that, they aren't transferable once used as far as I know.

Wow, haven't seen anyone on my freecycle asking for Disney tickets! I do think it is getting out of hand what people are asking for on freecycle--and your post just proves it!

This is an example of why I am no longer with Freecycle. It was more of a headache than anything else. I would list items and have several people ask for it and give me a time and date they would pick it up...then it was always a no show.

I dropped out of my freecycle because of requests like that, especially around Christmastime. One woman was asking for football tickets for her husband to a professional game, PS2 for her kids, and all kinds of outrageous things. Someone else was asking for a reliable running car. The list was in an uproar over it.

And the people who past everyday wanting something different but never have anything to give, unless it's things they took from other offers and are offering it up because they could never use it.

One funny one that I saw recently they asked for a basketball goal and someone had one to give and the next day they asked for a basketball to go with it. Ummmmmmm ok

yep I dropped out of freecycle for the same reason.
"Wanted: decent looking, running car, MUST be automatic"
And then the flaming began and my inbox would be filled with people complaining about the person who asked.

Give me a break people!

Yea, I still go to my local freecycle board every once in awhile too. And it's crazy what people ask for. On mine someone seriously asked for a boat! And someone else asked for someone to come and help them move. Are you serious? I would never feel comfortable asking for something, that's not what the board is about.... I would never even ask for something little like a book. Too weird.

But I have gotten a few nice things and given away nice things on freecycle so it's not all bad....

I try to donate to a charity or take to the consignment shop first. If it's something neither will take, I list on freecycle and I don't care who takes it. I'd rather not throw away things that can be used. I've never had a problem with no-shows. BUT, there are definitely some outrageous things asked for! Luckily, the freecycle list i'm on is moderated, which helps.

Never heard of Freecycle before. I can't believe there is any place where people are asking for things for free that could be considered luxury items.

Yep kind of like people begging for Gymbucks. Those are always for sale on ebay so why would anyone give them away free?

I've seen people post on the DIS and on Freecycle wanting them free.

That is crazy!!

Out of curiosity I checked our freecycle. I'm a member, but have never used it before. There were requests for a non used 25 inch TV for their kids' playroom, a queen bedroom set including headboard, dresser and nightstands, and one person wants a set of golf clubs and golf bag for her DH on father's day since her children have wrecked 3 other sets of his clubs. :rotfl2:

I dropped out of ours a long time ago. I guess people feel that it can't hurt to ask and that they have nothing to lose by asking.
