Unfortunately, once a recruiter gets your phone number or address, it is almost impossible to get rid of them. My husband had one harassing him. Called him at home every day. He even tracked him down at work. I would never sign up for a freebie from the military.
DH's best friend served as a reqruiter for awhile... he once told us that if someone said they were "homosexual" they would be removed from reqruiting lists. Don't know if that would help anyone, but it might be worth trying

Seriously though, if you tell them you aren't interested and take you off their list, don't they have to leave you alone. Like the do not solicit policy?
