hmmm...I wouldn't consider myself much of a techie but when I set up my wireless router at my house, it wasn't much more than plugging it in and then plugging in my ethernet cable from my cable modem...Unless you are tech-savvy, I would definitely recommend getting a separate router/access point for travel use. Some may think they can just unplug their wireless AP from home and take it along. Not recommended, IMO.
I brought a spare unit from home and ended up having to reset it to the manufacturer's default settings before it would work with the Disney service. If that unit was still in use at home, chances are I would have had to re-configure it again upon my return. Again, maybe not a difficult task for a techie but it will take time and could lead to a great deal of frustration.

I am renting points as well and have seen this question asked many times. From reading other posts I know that sometimes renters/guests receive it free and sometimes not. Here is my question . . . is there anyway to know before you use it if they are giving it to you free or if you will need to pay? I ask because if they do happen to give it to me free then I would love to use it to keep up with email, etc. But if it is not free, it's not worth the extra money for me. Any way to know?
