I just got a phonecall from Disneyland Paris, they have upgraded me from the Cheyenne to the Newport Bay Club for mine and Kacee's lads only trip! This now means it's cost me £54.60 for 2 nights at the NBC instead!!!

They said I'd been specialy selected but I thought this usually hapened at check in, anyone else had this??

The synic in me thinks it's to do with my complaint :-)

I think you might be right there - thats what happened to me, got an upgrade from the Santa Fe to the NBC. We didn't get told until we checked in, but I think that was because I hadn't had any kind of written confirmation about my complaint by the time we left for our trip.

Are you sure you want the upgrade? Don't get me wrong, the NBC was fine, but my DD would have preferred to stay at the Santa Fe, and maybe Kacee would be happier at the Cheyenne?
Do you have time to ask them to provide a room thats not too far from the main building? If you do, I'd ask them nicely for that, as if you get a room in the East Wing, you and Kacee could be walking for ages down endless corridors to get from the main entrance to your room. That was my only real complaint with the NBC, so if you can ask for a closer room, I'd do that if I were you.

Enjoy :goodvibes

The Newport Bay is a lovely hotel..... :goodvibes

When i got upgraded to the NPB i got told at check in at the Cheyenne as the hotel was over booked. The rooms in the NPB are huge and really comfy, just ask for a room near reception.

Maybe its to do with your complaint :) what happened with that when you was at the park.

Newport bay is a great hotel i love it in summer it has a pool and is a little closer to the parks .

wow wtg

i would love a free upgrade when i go lol

ill keep my fingers crossed

:cool1:

I've just read my earlier post here again - I'm sorry if its sounds like I was putting down the NBC - especially as I also got a free upgrade for 6 of us.

The hotel definitely looks "wow" from the outside, and the public areas are beautiful. The restaurants are great, and the staff are just as lovely there as in any other onsite hotel.
I was just disappointed with the shabbiness of our room, and how far we had to walk from the reception area to get to it. It really was down what seemed like endless corridors (and 2 of the 5 lifts in the wing didn't work the whole time we were there).

The major plus in the NBC's favour is its literally 5 minutes walk from the Village.

I hope you get a lovely room close to reception Cap'n :goodvibes

Hi,
Last year We had booked to stay at the Cheyenne for Our very first trip. About 2-3 weeks before We were due to go (1st March) We got a phone call from Disney asking if We would like a free upgrade to the NBC. We said Yes of course. It was very nice (although abit of a trek back to Our room after a long day on the parks:eek:
When We went back in September We booked for the Cheyenne again (cash flow decision) & We really enjoyed it. We are going to DLRP again:cheer2: in 13 days (who`s counting!) & are stopping at the Cheyenne again (We really like it there)
So it may not be anything to do with Your complaint.
Dawn.

wow u lucky fella's

cant wait to hear all about it

Hi again, Just another thought. We had booked Halfboard standard for the Cheyenne & when we were upgraded our vouchers were not enough at any of the NBC restaurants (it did`nt make any odds to us as We ate in the village & the parks)
Dawn.

wooo hoooo
u lucky ******* lol
sounds a fab deal, and its not like u wont stay in they cheyenne again - so enjoy the upgrade - maybe u cud phone before u go and request a room close to reception - use the excuse of kacee - i wud ;) :rotfl:

Fabulous news, we loved the Newport Bay when we stayed there last July/August. We were in the East wing (just by the swimming pool) and didn't find it a trek at all (mind you all the lifts were working). Have a fabulous time.

If I only had to go as far as the swimming pool area in the East Wing, I wouldn't think it was a trek either. Unfortunately, the East Wing goes on for corridors and corridors after the swimming pool - and we seemed to be near the end of the last possible one :confused3.
