Apparently this lady was stealing tickets from Universal Orlando and giving them to somebody she had borrowed money from. Estimate is she stole over $1 million worth of tickets. She said she wasn't selling them just giving them to someone she had borrowed money from. I wonder how much she borrowed?

edit, I can't spell to well when I type fast. Obviously the title should be Free Ticket Give Away.

:scared1: 1 million dollars worth of tickets to pay back a loan?!!! The person she gave the tickets to could have started a nice business selling tickets.

I'm not surprised someone did it, I am stunned no-one at Universal bothered looking and that this went on for 18 months. If this is how they run things there must be theft everywhere in that organization. YIKES

We have not gone to Universal in Orlando in a number of years and I know Disney tickets are expensive but the atricle said the value of the tickets she was taking were $112 each. Would that be a two day or a two park admision price?

It's the base price for a 1-day park to park pass. Meaning entrance to both Universal and Islands of Adventure. Now often times there's promotions and coupons that the average person does not pay $112, but that's still the full retail value of the ticket.

Sometimes, in a large case like this, not only do they have to find the perp who did it. But create a paper trail, and stake the person out.

Kari told me a story one time of a CM in her area that was suspected of stealing lost items. So security set up a trap to "drop" an envelope full of money in front of the person. There was over a $1,000 cash in it. So they waited for the person to pick it up and pocket it, without trying to contact a manger or higher authority for a large sum of money like that. They got walked off stage by security, then escorted out.
The rules are anything over a certain value or cash has to be immediately walked up to Guest Relations by a manager and some one else. Then it's logged and recorded. All other items are kept in the area till the end of the day, then taken to Guest Relations before they send it over to the TTC.
