Free ticket upgrade and AAA room discount?

We are planning a trip this May and would like to take advantage of the ticket upgrade that is being offered which adds the hopping and water park options for free. I know that this offer can't be combined with any other offers and you are required to pay rack rates on the room to use this offer.

But, my question is this.... if we book our 1st night at POP and pay rack rates and purchase a 10-day ticket, can we book a separate room-only reservation for the remaining nights and ask for the AAA discount on the rooms? Does anyone see any reason why we can't do this?? There are 16 of us going for 11 nights and this would be quite a bit of savings for the 4 rooms we need.

From what I understand, in order to get the free ticket upgrade you need to book a package with a minimum 3 night stay. So, I guess you would have to run your numbers to see if paying rack for 3 nights to get the upgraded tickets is still worth it.

Oooh, that's right.. I forgot about the 3-day minimum... maybe we'll do that... 3 nights rack rates and 8 nights AAA rate.. a little savings is better than none! Thanks for the quick response.
