There's only one on there besides the cane offer its Mccormick and Schmicks. Their menu states its for veterans. I'm not sure if its for active. I've yet to call. I know for a fact that Texas roadhouse, chilis and applebees does it for retired, active and veteran military. We took advantage of the offers last year.
Places such as applebees and outback both accept the photo in uniform even old military ids.

I believe Colonial Williamsburg gives free admission to the veteran on Veterans Day and Memorial Day.

Just returned and missed all the freebies.

Oh well I might try be there next year at this time, but then I would miss Parade on Remembrance Sunday at home. Hmm decisions eh.

Chris

You won't be missing all of them unless you don't have the restaurants around you. It's at any of the participating restaurants in the United States.

An update on the offers. I called my local Texas Roadhouse and McCormick and Schmicks. Texas Roadhouse is offering the free meal to the immediate service member/veteran ONLY. No dependents even with i.d. card. McCormick and Schmicks is only for veterans. These are based on the locations in Virginia Beach, VA.

Colonial Williamsburg update, they are offering the ticket to the immediate service member and dependents (e.g. spouses, children) no aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters..etc. They are also offering the free ticket to deployed members spouses and immediate family ("Free “Honoring Service to America” tickets will be provided to immediate dependants of currently deployed troops, with appropriate identification.") I believe it is the same for Jamestowne and Yorktown. Because they are sponsored by the National Park Service.

Yay, My husband is always off on Fridays, so I will send him to get his free lunch while I am at work, then free dinner when I get off.

Besides the ones that I mentioned in my post, are these verified? It's the same list as 2010. And a few of the stores/restaurants to my belief were not participating this year. So far the Virginian Pilot newspaper in VA Beach reported the ones listed previously. And the Texas Roadhouse one is 11 until 2pm (Lunch Hours) on Friday November 11th. I called VB Texas Roadhouse to verify that. It might be different at your local Texas Roadhouse, but this is particularly for the VB one.

kirrrby--it's always a good idea to call ahead to verify, but this is the list that was emailed to me today from the coordinator of the NC National Guard Family Program.
