Free Stuff for Military - Nov 11th

kirrrby--it's always a good idea to call ahead to verify, but this is the list that was emailed to me today from the coordinator of the NC National Guard Family Program.

Okay, they don't email us. So i'm just going on the list from the newspaper. Anyways, thank you for sharing that list.

Another one to add:

HHGregg stores are offering 10 percent off products (not sure if there is a minimum value to take advantage). This is offered to anyone who can show proof. Including spouses.

The McCormick and Schmick's offer is for Sunday Nov 13th according to the email I got from them.

Thanks for the list, DH is looking forward to taking advantage of a few of the offers.

My husband is off taking advantage of several deals today. He is waiting for his free oil change right now and later he is going to Texas Roadhouse for his free lunch...lol

I don't think anyone has mentioned this one... Olive Garden has a limited menu for all active duty/veterans.

I took today off to be with my Veteran just to let him know that he will forever be my hero...

Be sure and thank a veteran today....

My DH is deployed and he called me this morning and asked me why all of the kids are home on a Friday, poor guy didn't even know it was Veterans Day. But he did end up with some free time today.

Thank you and your DH for keeping this country wonderful.

My friends just got back from Olive Garden and they gave a free meal AND a $10 gift card for later:cool1:

Now that was very nice of them!

Yep...Im not sure if all Olive Garden's are doing this, but my friend said the manager was walking around with a stack of gift cards handing them out to the vetrans:goodvibes

We just got home from Olive Garden where my DH got a free meal. At the end of the meal the manager came to our table and asked my DH how his meal was and thanked him for his service. Then gave him a $10.00 gift card. We both thanked him for DH's free meal and gift card and told him we appreciated it and he said this is the first year they've done it. We again thanked him. He chatted for a bit with us and was very nice. I think it is wonderful that OG did this.

My husband and I went out to lunch today, and near us was a table with a large group of veterans and their wives. They were probably in their 70s, if not 80s and were decked out in red, white, and blue. It was nice that so many people went over to speak to them and thank them for their service. They clearly appreciated the comments.

My DH and I went to applebees and our meal.was awful. We liked the jester buy we would have been better off if we went somewhere else and bought our meal. Instead of the veterans deal today. We were very disappointed. The food.was awful but the service was good.

We took advantage of a few of the offers yesterday. Also there was a huge parade here in va beach. We ate at texas roadhouse for veterans day the line was there an hour before they opened. We chatted with a few friendly veterans and were part of the people who got in on the first round of people. They were rushing though. but its understandable. Also went and took advantage of 20% off at local pawn shops and at a lovely place called the Silver Diner. Hope yall had a good veterans day!

Applebees recently changed their menu and it was awful the last time we went, so we avoided them on VD and because they were offering a limited menu.

We went to TGIFriday's and it was really good, we did have to wait about 45 minutes.
