I'm not OP, but I got this email also. This was a great offer! I got a free 8 x 8 book email from Shutterfly. I had ordered a coffee mug from them last fall (with a discount code I got off DisBoards I think). Then I got an email from them offering 40% off a book. I ordered a book of my parent's 50th Anniversary using that code. So, last week I got the free 8x8 book code also. Which I used to order a book for DS's GF's birthday.

I guess it's a reward for ordering but also trying to entice you to order more stuff. They do a good job.
