Hi, i always try to eat free range or organic meat when possible, and i wondered if anyone has ever asked where disney get there meat and other fresh prouduce from, i'm ok to eat veggie which i do most of the time but would be nice to not have to ask in every resturant.:confused3.

Thankspixiedust:

Check the menu for The Wave. That is really the only menu I've ever seen the word "organic" on and I don't remember if it pertains to the meat or not.

Thanks keep them coming:thumbsup2 i checked out the wave looks really nice, i can't wait to try it:banana:

We are the same way, except that we eat seafood (even non-organic seafood).

The only place we had meat was at Wolfgang Puck Express, but several of the signature restaurants do have free-range or organic chicken, or Tanglewood Farms chicken (you'll have to check them out to see if they meat your standards), especially the signature restaurants and nicer resort restaurants, and some of the Epcot restaurants.

Not sure what you mean about "having to ask," every restaurant should have at least one vegetarian option you can order.

Do a search on what qualifies to be Free range and organic foods you'll be surprised with the answers.

Here is the 1st website from the search I did
http://www.upc-online.org/freerange.html

Free range = they left the cage door open at some time in the animals life. no rules as to how long it was left open or if the animal got to go outside but they had the opportunity to go outside at some time in the animals life.

Organic= most likely from China. Read the labels. Who is over there checking organic foods anyway ?
They still use lead based paint in China.

I know that they use sustainable fish at the Garden Grill and vegetables from the hydroponic farm downstairs at Living with the Land at Epcot. :) You really can't get much fresher than that (and what someone else said...they are also used in the some of the TSes all around WDW...like I heard that they use them at GF and I think it was Boma). popcorn::

The chicken on the menu at LeCellier was always listed as free-range. We have been to others that list the same thing. If you check the menus on this site or allears it should be listed with the item.

Sanaa at AKL-Kidani Village has a sustainable fish dish on the menu.

But not exclusively - they don't produce enough food in their little Land lab space to do much more than supplement the WDW menus.

The previous poster is correct about free range and cage free, the rules are not very strict about that labeling and it can be very misleading. But he is incorrect about organic...there are very strict rules regarding what can be labeled as organic or not. Be sure to read your labels and do your homework, and know where your food comes from.

Thank you all, i'm going to check out some more menus, Im also not into mushrooms::eek: which are used quite abit in veggie food as replacement for meat, but veggie opition not a problem usually, just wanted to to know if i can have meat now and agian, without wondering where it came from:confused:
