'Free' popcorn and soda with Fantasmic package?

I read on another board that if you do the Fantasmic package, you get 'free' popcorn and soda. We went last year and I remember paying for the popcorn.

Is this a new thing, an old thing or totally not true? Anyone been lately that can enlighten me?

We did the Fantasmic Dinner Package June 2 of this year, and they weren't doing the free popcorn and drink then. And I didn't see any of the other package guests getting free popcorn/soda. Must be something very new.

Actually, since the dinners are scheduled fairly early, you're ready for a snack by showtime. Our dinner was at 6:00, and we got to the show around 8:15 (9:00 show), so I would have loved some free popcorn!

When they first changed the Fantasmic package to the current way of giving a CC and booking 2 months out, some were saying that you would get the popcorn and soda. I remember this vividly. But it turned out to be false info.

So either this is based on the original false rumor or this is VERY new info...

What tickets are you picking up at the guest services desk at your resort? I thought that you got the ticket for the Fantasmic show after you ate at the restaurant where you had a PS for the Fantasmic Dinner Package. I phoned for a PS for August and they took my CC number and told me to be at the Brown Derby 15 minutes before my scheduled time. There was no mention of picking up any tickets at my resort. Can someone enlighten me?

I recently booked the Fantasmic Dinner Package for August, and was told they would give us something at the restaurant to allow us in to the special entrance, and that we needed to be there 30 minutes before the show started. So, I agree that the site stating pick up tickets at guest services, get there 45 minutes early, and you get free popcorn is likely incorrect/outdated. I think this package has been changed enough that it's hard to keep up with, and in general I've found quite a bit of outdated/incorrect information online, so you do need to be a bit wary about what you read.

Castillo mom- it's more my kids that I was thinking of- last year we did the package and of course we still had to buy sodas and popcorn for them. I thought it would be an extra bonus is all.....

I agree that it seems the info provided is more than likely outdated, no harm in checking though!

Come to think of it, if my boys had a big dinner but were offered free popcorn and soda afterward, they would definitely not pass it up, full or not!LOL

We did H&V Fantasmic Pkg on May 29th.
We stayed at the CR.

No tickets given to us at the CR - the
conceirge knew we had H&V Fanstamic PS.

We went to H&V ate dinner and they gave
us our 'back street' passes to the witches
section of fantasmic.

We bought our own sodas (with the
glowing light bulbs and last years
100 ys of magic plastic cups).
No free popcorn or soda offered.

In fact - they ran out of PLAIN popcorn
before they reached our section.
They only had buckets of CARMEL popcorn
for sale.
My DD was

So nothing for free in May - unless it's
a summer thing - or maybe when the
crowds are low in Jan/Feb.

The show is still worth going to.
Pick up you own snack on the way in to
munch on during the show

We did the Fantasmic pkg at H&V last Tues., 6/24. At dinner we were given the pass (one pass for the entire group to use) and directions to the correct entrance.

No free popcorn - sorry! But we had a great time.
