My DH and I are headed back to Disney World in early September (along with his mom and dad - no kids yet...we all just never grew up ourselves! :) ) We plan to stick together as a group for most of our plans, but I'm sure we will want to break off and have some alone time together while we are there. Any good free and/or inexpensive romantic things to do either at parks or resorts?? :love2:

The boat rides at night are very romantic. There are also carriage rides at Port Orleans that can be very romantic.

In Pecos Bill's, there's a corner with a little balcony (you can't access) and a fountain. Go early or in off times, sit by the fountain, and share a soda (or whatever pleases you). I love it there.

There's a lot of dark places on peoplemover for secret kisses.

1. You can do a carriage ride at Fort Wilderness or Port Orleans for not too much money.

2. Eat as a couple at Sci Fi Dine-In Theater at Hollywood Studios. You'll be together in a "car" watching old sci-fi movie clips. You can get a bit of the old-fashioned couples' drive-in movie feeling- ala "Grease". Eat slowly and cuddle a bit as you relax and watch the funny clips together.

3. Hang out at your resort's hot tub together.

There's a little area to the left of the castle that has a bench and a fountain like structure that isn't very populated. It's near the entrance to Merida. I once watched an impromptu marriage proposal there.

My husband and I made out in a clamshell on Nemo & Friends. :love2:

Well, we snuggled and I kissed him.

One time my husband and I watched Wishes fireworks from the train station at the front of the park. That was awesome but crowded.

The romantic part came after when we both just decided to hang out there at the top of the train station for a while and "people watch" while the crowds left the park. It was beautiful standing up top there together and watching all the families and friends leave MK, all the while having the beautiful castle as our backdrop. We really didn't say much to each other other than occasionally saying "This is really nice," giving a few smiles and kisses to each other, and pointing out happy families and cute kids :) It was a special moment for us, seeing this castle in the background, a symbol that means so much more to us than just "Disney World." Then seeing all the families and friends enjoying their time together; taking pictures, visiting that one last shop, the little pirates and princesses completely zonked out in their parents arms, and we got to see it all together. In a place that brings us so much happiness, it was quite a moment to stand there together and take it all in. After most of the crowds had gone, we walked down the stairs onto main street and took a selfie picture of us both in front of the castle before we left.

It was a spontaneous, unplanned thing to hang back while the crowds left the park. We normally don't do that kind of thing, as I know those incredible and hard working cast members need to get home. It was such a simple thing, but meant a lot to both of us Disney fans who were pretty stressed before <3 I will never forget it.

Just an FYI, I'm not sure if the train station is open any more for general viewing. There have been reports recently that it was roped off for VIP guests. Not sure if it has stayed that way, or how long each day it has stayed roped off.

That is a beautiful story!! I also love to people watch. The last time my hubby and I were there, we also waited to leave MK one night for a long while. It was very special and romantic, and one of the cast members saw us struggling to get a good selfie in front of the castle, and he stopped sweeping Main St. to help us out. The awesome cast members definitely help make the trip special! Thank you for the idea! :)

You're probably right! I didn't think of that. When my husband did this last Fall 2016, VIP spots weren't completely done yet. Bummer!
