Free One Car Class Upgrades

Would someone please explain how these upgrades work? We have a reservation for Avis that comes with a free class upgrade. I've joined their Preferred Club so we can go straight to the garage but not sure if the reps in the garage can handle the upgrade part?

The upgraded car should be pre-assigned.

The upgrade will show on your reservation.
For example: if you select a Compact car when you are making the reservation and add the upgrade code, your completed reservation will show "mid-size" as the rented class.

Typically, these are the only sizes that are elidgeable for the upgrade
compact upgrades to mid-size
mid-size upgrades to Standard
Standard upgrades Full size

Thanks. So I should check with the garage rep when we pick up the keys to see if we were upgraded or not. It really isn't a huge deal either way since I reserved full size anyway.

I don't see it showing on the ressie. It's an AARP perk for "through Full Size" booking.

If you booked Full Size, there is no free upgrade beyond this.

If you want a Full Size vehicle, book a Standard with the free upgrade code and you will be automatically upgraded to Full Size
This will show as a Full Size reservation on your completed reservation but the price will be the price of the Standard
