So what if we do a package vacation, but are in the park on my dds bday...Do we get a gift card worth one day admission price instead of free admission? And how much is that? Has anyone done this? :confused3

Make sure you register at DL website or bring her birth certificate. If your DD is 9 or younger it should be for $62 if she is 10 or older it should be for $72.

Since she will already have valid admission on that day (from your package), she (you?) can select one of the following as an alternate birthday gift:
- a ticket good for admission for one day in the next 365 days
- a set of fast passes for 6 (i think) people for a few rides in the park
- a birthday fun card (of amounts goldies5 explained above)

If for some reason you do not receive the confirmation e-mail, just go without it and with your DD (and her proof of birth) to either City Hall or the Guest Relations booth outside the Main Gate when you arrive. They will take care of everything there for you. Remember, you MUST have proof of her birthday with you. :)

She will be turning 12, so I know that she will pick the birthday fun card...That's a pretty good deal! Does the free birthday thing end at the end of this year? Proof of birth is easy, as we always bring her passport when we fly, anyway...Thanx for the info!

It is supposed to end at the end of the year but I keep hoping they will extend it as I plan to be there during my birthday next year with an AP and would love to get the fun card!

My son picked the fast pass option for all of us!

Great decision as the crowds were pretty bad this week!
This helped SO MUCH AS IT WAS IMMEDIATE FAST PASS FOR EVERYONE IN OUR PARTY(4 OF US)..GOT TO USE THIS OPTION ON 6 ATTRACTIONS!

CAME IN SO SO HANDY!!!! HE WAS QUITE HAPPY!:banana::banana::banana::cool1::cool1:

Ok...so for my scenario, I would do this?
Go to Guest relations (isn't that the window outside the gates?) Or City hall..they both issue the Brithday stuff?
Then I would go to the AP place..which is, uh..moved to where? and then my DH and I would present our PH, the birthday card and cash to pay for AP upgrades? Do they issue them right then? take your picture and all that? How long a process is this if the lines aren't horrid?

Sign up ahead on disney website..Once you have the birthday certificate,
go through bag check at Disneyland..Immediately to left of turnstiles, there will be Guest Relations Windows..Present birthday certificate and passport or birth certificate..They will give you documentation..
Then you enter turnstile with your regular tickets.
Once inside Disneyland, immediately as you walk in on left, there is a small round building(counter) where they are taking pictures..Present documentation and they will issue the immediate fass passes for birthday guest and there party..I think they will give immediate passes for 4 additional guests aside from birthday guest.

Good Luck..It really was a TERRIFIC TIME SAVINGS FOR US!
Enjoy the birthday!:wizard::wizard::wizard:

So as someone who has actually used the FP option, how does it work exactly?

The information given by Disney made it seem like you got FP's for 2 attractions, 1 Donald attraction and 1 Daisy attraction. But it sounds like you get more than that if you guys used it 6 times.

Total of 6 attractions(designated by Disney) for birthday guest and the immediate members of their party(up to 4 additional people I believe other than birthday guest)..So in theory, if you have 4 total people in party, 24 "immediate fast pass tickets".

Hope this helps!:goodvibes:goodvibes

The number of FPs you actually get is based on how busy the day is. It is NOT always 6 FPs per person.

I wonder if they tell you when you are choosing the options how many FP's you will get per person. If it was really 6 FP each, I would be highly tempted to use it on either my DD's birthday or mine. I heard that you got two FP's per each person and that seems pretty chintzy to me when compared with a $70gift card. Give us six each, though? That would start making it worthwhile! :yay: Especially if you pick up your own FP's in the morning, as well.

Does anyone know if you have to use the birthday fun card on the day of your birthday? Also, can you pick up your birthday fun card at the ticket booth outside the park?

It doesn't expire. You can use it at any time. And if you have valid entry (AP or PH) you can get it at the Ticket Booth or Guest Relations outside the park.

2 Fastpasses would not be worth $70 in my opinion..

My son used it on Monday, August 13th and the parks were crowded!

6 FASTPASSES PER PERSON SEEMED LIKE A GOOD TRADE FOR THE BIRTHDAY FUN CARD! I highly doubt that 2 fastpasses would be a reasonable trade; if that were the case, I'd go for the funcard!

Have fun! Happy Birthday in Advance!:cheer2::cheer2:

Thank you! Very handy having DD's birthday and mine two days apart for this event! ;)

Well now! That is VERY good to know! I can see us either picking up family FP's on either DD's birthday on Wednesday or my birthday on a Friday and use them on the Saturday of our visit. :thumbsup2

I called Disney a couple of weeks back and asked about Birthday options. I was told the fastpass could only be used on the Birthday it was given. I called again today and was again told the same thing.

FPs expire on the day issued. The Fun Card does not.

This is true, I picked up 2 Fun Cards for my Daughter and I this morning. We both have the same Birthday. I did not think they would give me hers without her being with me, but they did not even ask about her. I just showed them both our Annual Passes, my Drivers License and her Passport.
