My husband is in the AF Reserves. Have any of you been that have family in the AF Reserves?? We are going in November and hope to be included in the Free offer for military.

Thank you for any help!

My husband is a Naval Reservist and we plan on taking advantage of the Free Military deal in November. I did read in his reservist newsletter recently that the last day to take advantage of the free day is Nov 11th, 2003. We have reservtions at Disney starting on Nov 11th so we are planning on going a day early and staying off Disney property close to Sea World to take advantage of the free day.

Did you know that if the military reservist member was recalled to active duty Disney is offering the military member a five day park hopper pass for free, $99 five day park hopper passes for each member of the family (I think up to four or five passes) and 40% off hotel rates on property. There is a certain time frame where they had to be active duty. My husband was recalled for active duty in Bahrain from January to May this year and we got a great deal on one of the Cabins at Fort Wilderness for a week stay. I'm not sure if they are still offering this but if you are interested call Disney for more info. Its called the Disney Armed Forces Salute. You can also go on line to www.disneyworld.com/military for more info.

Thank you for the reply! My husband was in the Navy for nine years, and has just recently joined the AF Reserve. We do appreciate Sea World for allowing this free entry to the park, as we know many are not able to afford a trip to all of the Orlando parks.

We hope that you enjoy your visit!

Just wanted to add to you all - My DH and I are both AF vets - I separated after 11 years, he retired after 26 years - and just want you to all know that you should really take advantage of these special "perks".

Best place I have found that details all of the goodies in Orlando is the Orlands Convention and Visitors Bureau site. I am not enough of a techie to patch in the link, but it is at :

www.orlandoinfo.com

then click on the "Salute to the Military" icon. They include all of the stuff about the SW & Busch Gardens tickets, as well as the WDW and the Universal free & reduced price tickets. The site also list all of the other discounts you can get at hotels, restaraunts, etc.

Hope the info helps! Enjoy!

Just wanted to add that we are going to Disney in December to take advantage of the specials for military. I e-mailed Sea World to ask if they would be extending their military special as we would not be there prior to 11/11. They indicated that we should contact the Orlando park directly. So, I e-mailed Sea World Orlando and received a response from them that they would be happy to honor the special for us in December. I printed the e-mail and will take it with me on our trip.

I am a military wife as well and I noticed that Mommy Poppins stated that she sent them an email and they said they would offer her the discount. Can you please tell me what address you used to email them? Our family is going on Nov 24th and would love to get on this if we could.

Thanks:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I actually filled out the comment form on the Sea World Orlando site. I put my question about extending the offer into the comment box after all of the name/address information. The e-mail from them came from SWF.GuestRelations@SeaWorld.com

Hope that helps!

Mommy Poppins, Love that name btw, thanks for the advice I just filled out a comment card and hope to get the same reply that you did. When are you going? We will be there the first week in Dec. I was so disappointed to hear that we could not get in on this great deal, but we only knew about the WDW offer when we booked, that one expires on Dec 19th.

BTW what did they tell you to bring as proof of activation? And did they tell you to bring that email? I wonder if they ARE going to extend it??

Thanks again for the info, I plan to email the US and IOA also!! Thanks again!

Ok I wanted to add that I jsut went to the US/IOA site and they have extended their offer for free admission until Dec 19th!!! :bounce: Military personnel get a 5 day Park plus pass for US and IOA plus selected City Walk clubs and the cost for 5 other family members is only $50 plus tax!!! I cannot even express how happy this makes me.!!!

I got an email from Sea World telling me that they would be happy allow us in despite the fact that we are going after the Nov 11th deadline.

My letter (which took about a week to receive) said to bring present military ID but I am taking the letter just to be safe.

I just got my reply from SEaworld as well and they said that our names are in a data base and that all we need is my dh ID, I too plan to bring a copy of his ID.

Just thought I would also mention that they are doing something at US/IAO as well. They have extended their offer until Dec 19th to line up with WDW's offer I guess. Dh will get a 5 day pass and mine will cost $50. I am unsure what the kids will pay. Thought I would let you all know!:D

Kids/Adults are $50 for the 5 day pass from US/IOA. I believe their special military program has always been valid until Dec. 19. Only Sea World is ending theirs on Veteran's Day; however, they have indicated to everyone who has asked (I believe) that they will honor the program into December.

I am taking a trip to WDW and SeaWorld in a few weeks. I had questions about how to go about getting the military tickets for SeaWorld, so I called Guest Relations.

In order to receive the free tix, my military husband must present his ID and I, too, must present my military spouse ID.

My dilemma is this: my military spouse ID has expired and I will not be able to take off work to travel on base to get a new one prior to our trip.

The Guest Relations staff member said that he was sorry, but my husband could get free tix for himself and the children. He said that my hubby could purchase up to 6 SeaWorld admission tix for $39 each. In other words, we will have to purchase a $39 ticket for me. Since the free tix only apply to direct dependents, we can also buy $39 tickets for my in-laws.

Just thought I would pass along the info. So military spouses, be sure to bring those unexpired IDs in order to receive the free offer.

Can military persons purchase advance admission tickets for other people?

Does anyone offer discounts for police personnel?

Thanks so much for that info. When we went to Sesame Place I didn't need my ID which is also expired, this is good to know. I guess they really just want families to get in free not a group of friends. Thanks again, I am not going until Dec so I have time to get mine done! Thanks!

As far as military purchasing tickets in advance for others I doubt they would do that. At SeaWorld military members who are present must show their ID's (husband/wife/older children in order to get the deal.

Disney's deal I believe it is family and friends but they must be purchased by the active member or their spouse before entering the parks. I think it is a one shot deal.
