We have had the magic shots before-Tink, Stich and Simba.I would like the fairy wings shot for my DH though...
KMB584 do I need to do anything before we go? Or does it know its all free as part of the package?

Magic Shots are just a type of picture - there's nothing you need to do to have them included other than ask photographers if they can do them.

The Disney UK site sells park tickets as a block (typically 7, 10, and 14 day) of park hoppers with Memory Maker bundled.

I'm not sure TBH. I don't believe the booking number can be used to link MM in MDE. I've been told by CMs that nothing needs to be done to activate them, but that doesn't explain to me how the photos are then linked with an MDE account.

Have you paid in full yet? My expectation would be that if activation is required, a code will arrive as part of your snail-mailed package from Disney Holidays. If you do get a code in the package, then this will need to be entered into MDE against your account.
