Free Leis at poly

Somewhere I read that you can get free leis at the Poly resort. Is this true? And do you have to be staying there? And where?

I got one when I checked in. I am not sure if they give them to everyone who visits. I would check the Poly FAQ thread, I am sure Seaspray would know.

I've received one during check-in and at the Luau, but never when just visting the resort while staying elsewhere.

You recieve then upon check in and also at the Luau.

We earned them at Ohanas from hula-ing in front of the whole restaurant

In 2006, we were staying at the Beach Club, but went to the Poly for dinner at Kona Cafe. After dinner, I went to the lobby concierge desk to ask a question (can't remember about what). Anyway, the lady at the desk gave me leis for all four of us. I thought that was a very sweet, magical thing for her to do, since we weren't staying there.

Check in and luau definitely. I was also given one while watching the firethrowers event once.

....unless the CM is too busy to think of it. Our party of 7 was skipped during check in. Not a huge deal, its just a cheap lei, but it was a little bit of a let down during the 1st moments of "magic"

My brother and his fiancee went to check out the Poly for a few hours a few trips ago and they just asked for the leis at the front desk. No one questioned whether they were guests at the hotel.

DH and I each got one just walking in the front lobby to head up for our ohana dinner ADR.

I've asked when going through the lobby and received leis - even if we are not staying there.

Been to the Poly numerous times, but have never stayed.
Only rec'd them at the luau.
