Hi everyone
We usually take advantage of the free internet when we stay on our DVC points.

Next week 23 of us are going to SSR to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary (5 different villas, each family staying 16 or 20 nights) . We paid cash for this trip to benefit from free dining.

Has anyone ever got the free internet by showing their DVC card even though they weren't staying on points? I know the rule is that you ought to be a member staying on points, I just wondered if anyone had gor lucky with this. $9.99 is a bit steep!

Also can anyone steer me in the right direction to find out how Fantasyland expansion is going? Worried about how it will alter our usual MK touring plan.

Thanks so much.
Mandy :)

They will not waive the daily internet fee if the reservation was not made thru MS.

If your rooms are fairly close together, you could take a couple of routers and share a wireless connection between 2 or 3 rooms.

$10 per day may seem steep. but I was recently in Cleveland, and the hotel had free internet that was slow as dial-up. If you wanted a faster connection, it was $13 per day.

Mandy...the way to get free internet at a hotel in the United States is to stay at a cheap place off site! For whatever reason, the low priced hotels seem to offer free internet and the better hotels typically charge $10-$15 per day for 24 hours of internet use.

I know this doesn't help you, but it always strikes me as odd that the high priced places charge for something that is free at the lower priced hotels. :confused3

As noted, you won't be able to get free internet at WDW resorts with the blue DVC card. My only suggestion, other than Chuck's "piggybacking" suggestion, is to space out your internet usage throughout the trip. I believe the charge is for a 24 hour period, not for a calendar day. So if you can handle using the internet every other day or so, it will cut down on the cost.

As Chuck noted, $10 a day is on the low side for resorts that charge an internet fee. Still, it can certainly add up on an extended trip. Good luck! :)

Fair enough- I will pay the fee every other day then. If i start at 10pm one night I can use it for two evenings for $9.99.

I guess I take the free access for granted when i stay on points.

If hubby brings the Airport Express hopefully we can both use our iPhones and iPads when the kids are asleep and we are chilling out in the villa. Gotta get my Facebook fix! LOL.

Thanks for the replies.
Mandy
