I go to WDW alot and just recently got AP to UO. We save some money by buying the little packets of gatorade and ice tea and asking at counter service restaurants for ice water, which they provide for free.
Is it the same at UO? Can I ask for water at their counter service with no problem?
TIA

Yes, most definitely.

Yes, most definitely.

thanks for the quick response....another question, completely unrelated...can we walk around Hard Rock Hotel and/or Portofino Hotel if we are not staying there?
We like to tour the resorts at WDW, maybe grab a bite to eat, and since both hotels are in walking distance for US and IOA we would like to do the same.
Thanks again

Yes you can tour all three resorts and eat there too.

If you are staying at one of the resorts you can also pool hop at the other resorts.

I will say that we didn't get full size cups of water when we asked at US/IOA. It made me have to guess at how much of the Crystal Lite pack to put in the water. I don't think the cups had a lid either.

It's the smaller cups for water at Universal, and yes, there are no lids.

could we ask for multiple cups of water ? to make one whole cup

You could get more than one, but what are you going to mix the gatorade or ice tea in? If you are bringing a bag, maybe attach a water bottle to the bag to use for mixing? I know they do have a 6.99 refillable souvenir mug and refills are 79 cents. From what I have read, you can even bring it back on subsequent trips. We will be there three days and will probably just buy these. We have a bag we have to store for rides anyway, so we can just attach them to our bag and then store them for the rides that require it.

We don't drink sodas, so we usually bring gatorade or tea (raspberry, green, peach) mixes. SO if I can get multiple cups of water I can add a bit of the mix to each of them.
The refillable mug is not an option for us since we wouldn't use it as much and we don't want more plastic in our house

Yes and you can also get free water in these. This is what I use even when I don't think I will want soda. Gives me the option to carry it around and hold on to it... plus with my caffeine addiction I frequent sodas...

I just found it hard to gauge how much to put in each cup when they were little like that. I also like that WDW gives you a cup with a lid, because I can add the powder, close the lid and shake it up.

We just returned from a visit at both parks. On our first day we bought one of the plain water bottles they sell. After going though 8 of those little cups with my family , pouring them in the bottle myself, I really felt we were wasting. I decided to just ask them to refill my bottle. They did with no problems at both parks, and even the booth on the way to the parking areas! Can't get ice in there, but the water from there soda machines is ice cold. You have to pick the ones that sell the fountain drinks... the others can't fill it.

Are the refillable mugs good for your stay at US, or just for that one day? Can you get refills at citywalk?

From what I have read here and elsewhere, the mugs are good for as long as you own them, even on subsequent trips. As far as using them in Citywalk, those restaurants are mostly independent, so I don't think so. We are buying them this year. I hear water refills are free and soda refills are 79 cents. Can't beat that!

Officially the cups are only to be used on date of purchased, however I have never had any problem with reusing the cups (even when the bottle design changed) :thumbsup2

I purchased the refillable mug at IOA on Monday 6/20/11. They had a deal that day where you buy 2 mugs and the 3rd one was free. The mugs were $6.99 + tax. The refills were $.85 (with tax). There is a sticker on the mug that says discounted refills on the day of purchase, but everyone on the boards say you can use it whenever you visit! :thumbsup2
