Hello folks

I think I may have read somwhere that if you visit DLRP during your birthday month and you can show proof of this, you get a free gift?

Can anyone confirm this? (or not as the case may be)

Going on my daughter's birthday in December - it's a combo b-day/xmas surprise!

Hi Sinead and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, DLP posting rules are here, DIS posting guidelines can be found here

In the past annual passport holders who visited during the month of a childs birthday could get a free birthday gift, but this is no longer available :sad2:

Never heard about any other way that you would get a free gift :)

We got one for DD last year I didn't realise they no longer did this

Hi sinead,

This did use to be publicised on the disneyland site in as part of the benefits of the annual passes, but it was suddenly taken off early this year. As I have an annual pass and was visiting with my dd who's birthday it was in July, I emailed disneyland beforehand to confirm that her birthday present would be waiting for her to collect. I received a prompt reply confirming that a present would be awaiting my dd. When we arrived true to their word my DD went along to the pass office and received her present ( which was a lovely pink minnie mouse bag). This really made her day along with birthday lunch as auberge de cendrillon. So I would recommend emailing disney.

Thank you all for the welcome! :flower3:

I must admit, I have been a bit of a lurker! I went with a small group of friends to DLP last year and enjoyed it so much that I took my wee girl again this year, just the 2 of us- and bought us each an annual pass so we could come back again next summer. It's possible I read about the b/day gift in the passport office ~ ummm I don't suppose you would have the e-mail address that I could contact Disney Direct? There's no harm in trying ...

Another question in relation to the passports - do you know of anyone who has been refused entry (even though it isn't a blackout date) because the parks are so busy? Hopefully this won't happen in December as I will be going mid-week (TueWed/Thu)

Again, many thanks.

Sinead it may very well have been what they named "Touche de magie" or "Touch of Magic", it was introduced in February 2006 and I read about it then on a Castmembers website.
It was applicable at a Disney Hotel and basically the CM filled in a slip and it entitled the holder to a free item, a balloon or pin, not sure if that was dependent on the CM or celebration - also I've never seen it anywhere other than mentioned on that CM's website, but there would be no harm in asking. :goodvibes

Or it could very well be the AP birthday present which was supposed to have ceased, sometimes it's seems to very much depend on the CM rather than any written rules on this sort of thing.

I'm now going for my 21st bday this december thanks to my wondeful boyfriend, is there no little quirky things for those celebrating their bday in the park?
also i know that u can have a bday tea party or something similar......any ideas how i could let my boyfriend know about this without being super obvious?
xxxxx

Janet, I wonder if I could have that address too. dd is 7 when we're there.
