Today is talk like a pirate day at Krispy Kreme doughnuts. If you come in and talk like a pirate, you get a free glazed doughnut. If you dress like a pirate, you get a free dozen glazed doughnuts. You must wear at least three pirate items and these include: pirate hat, pirate shirt, pirate hook, black pointy boots or ragged brown sandals, gold and silver bracelets/earrings, parrot on shoulder, bandana, pirate belt, knickers, eye patch.

Oh wow, thanks for the info. Is this a new thing this year? I wish we still had a store near us. It ahs been closed for years now.

They all went out of business here 5 years ago, although they did open a new one this year in the town one over. Other than today, they are just too expensive compared to the mom and pop donut shops.

I know. Ours was a zoo. We have enough doughnuts for next 5 days of breakfast. We five dozen doughnuts at the house. I even took a extra kid with me too.

My store had this event last year too. Not sure about next year.

There is one on Florin across from Walmart, then there is one near the Ikea store off the 80. They have reopened a few.

Your mom and pop stores must be a lot cheaper then the ones I see. They seem to think their donuts are frosted with gold. I saw one that wanted over $2 for a plain donut.

Yes, in central VA we have a number of excellent mom and pop places but they charge $13/dozen or more. And when I visit my parents on northern michigan I pay almost $6 for 3 donuts.

Stores around here (local not chain) charge 75¢ - 90¢ for the standard "circle" donuts. Bars, twists & filled are $1.50 - $2.00.

No clue what Krispie Kreme charges there aren't any in my area. As a matter of fact no chain donut places any where near me.
