HELP!! Really hoping some one with experience in this can help me! I made reservations for 3 rooms under my free dining pin, us and 2 of our friends' families. I was told at the time that as long as our dates intersected we would be fine. Our friends are arriving 3 days prior to us. When I called back today to do some modifications (names spelled incorrectly), they told me that it is not possible that I will need to be present when they are checking in. Our 1 friend already bought air, and there is no way for us to go that early due to work. Any idea what will happen :confused3

Phone CMs are notorious for having bad information. Call back and ask to speak to a supervisor about your issue. I have only heard that the reservations have to overlap; so, your initial information for your booking was likely correct. I am also sure someone else will come along that has done a PIN booking like yours and will clarify things.

A friend of ours booked a room for us using her discount. We were traveling during the same dates but she was staying at a different resort. When we went to check, in the front desk wouldn't do it until she arrived to show her ID. Fortunately we anticipated this and she was on her way over to our resort when we checked in. I am not sure if there is an exception to this, but you may want to call and ask for a supervisor to see if there is a way around it. Good luck!

Oh dear goodness! I was really hoping someone was going to say they had the experience and they didnt' say a word! Now I'm really scared!! I have heard a different story from every cast member so far! UGH!! Thank y'all for your responses!! Anyone else?!

No experience, but I would try emailing your question instead of calling. If you get the answer you want to hear, make copies of the email and give it to the family that will get their first. They should honor it, but they may still need to get a manager involved when they try to check in. Good luck!

Although not exactly the same, here is my experience with shared PIN/overlapping reservations...

Basically I was told in order to share the PIN, I, the PINholder, had to personally secure the reservation and must be staying onsite during a portion of the stay.

So I booked all of the rooms under my PIN and all, or most, invoices were noted with my attn. However, each reservation was considered its own under separate names. I was not considered the lead guest on the guest reservations - only my own. The guests were responsible for their own reservation/room/charges/etc.

Also, my guests checked in two days after I arrived, and I was not asked/required to be present at checkin. Actually, the Poly CL checkin lounge had their welcome packet ready...and ZIP for me. They had to hunt down my reservation in the system. So much for using my attn.

Not entirely the same situation as you since my guests checked in after I arrived, but I still was not required to be physically present.

I agree, if you can get the approval written in an email, take it with you to checkin.

Good luck. :)
