Free/Discounted Valet Parking?

In theory, no. In reality, maybe.
Technically, valet parking is only free at the DVC Resorts, but...
One valet tag from any WDW resort is good for the whole day, at all resorts. Thus, if you have a tag from a DVC Resort, the valet parking for the rest of the day, at all resorts is included.
That's sort of a back door approach to free valet parking. I always point out to the valet that I didn't pay for my valet tag from the DVC resort, but they always insist it's taken care of.

Clear as mud? :teeth:

PS- Don't forget about tipping! :drinking:

I would NEVER forget about the tipping :)

I seem to recall that Valet parking was free at DVC resorts (Boardwalk, VWL, etc.), but not free at the other resorts. I remember paying at the Animal Kingdom Logde and the Poly.

I know that one valet tag is good for the whole day, but I didn't think the tag I get at Old Key West for the whole trip would be good at the other resorts.

Just call me confused :confused3

I'm with ya. I thought the same thing, but repeatedly I've been told by the valet that the tag is good.
We usually visit many different resorts for dinner, and I keep getting that same answer.

Who knows? Maybe next time they will charge... :drinking:

Old Key West does not have valet parking since you can park right next to your building. The parking pass issued at check-in is not for valet service, it it your parking pass for your resort and will also provide free access to all Theme Park parking lots. All guests at all WDW resorts will get a similar pass - but none are for the valet service.

DVC Members do get free valet service only at VWL, BWV and BCV. As Maistre Gracey pointed out, you will get a valet tag good for that day. The free DVC service is not supposed to be valid at any other resorts, but sometimes it will happen.

Yes, I know OKW does not have valet parking. I just wasn't sure if we still got free valet parking at the DVC resorts. Your expaination was perfect! Thanks for clearing that up for me, Thanks for all the responses! :)

When a DVC member uses free valet parking at a DVC resort they are not supposed to get a valet parking tag (your rsort parking pass is not a valet parking tag). These valet parking tags are the ones that hang from a mirror, are colored (red, green, whatever color they are using for the day), and have the current date stamped on them. On occasion the valet person might (mistakenly) put one of these tags in your car when you use the free valet parking. If that happens you will have a WDW valet parking tag for the day that will be honored at all WDW resorts. As far as the other resorts are concerned you have already paid for valet parking for the day (even though you haven't) and they won't charge you.

If I've used free valet parking 50 times over the past few years I might have gotten a valet parking tag that was honored at other (non-DVC) resorts a half a dozen times. It's nice if you get it, but you aren't supposed to have it and shouldn't plan on it.

Policy is that valet parking is free at DVC resorts only and that's usually what happens.

I agree with everthing you have said.

That being said, I have had the GF, Poly, CR, and others all honor my "little stub" that was on my dash.

I never try to get away with something, so I always point out that I didn't pay. I've tried to pay, but they just won't let me. :confused3

MG - thanks for clarifying.

The only non-DVC resort we usually ever park at is the GF. I was tempted to say they have never honored my envelope stub, but then again I haven't tried to valet park there only having it. One time when I did get a valet tag I did take advantage of it to valet at the GF, but I usually self park.

I'm good at being lazy when it's cheap/free, but for the $7 I might have to pay I usually hoof it to the self parking ;).

But remember, if you are also a Disney Dining Experience member and you eat a table service dinner at a resort that offers Valet Parking you can valet for free by showing your card and a dinner receipt.

Ding, ding, ding.........there's our ticket to free GF valet parking. We always drive there to eat at 1900 Park Fare, and we are DDE members. Does that just apply to dinner, or woulod it also apply if we eat breakfast there?

Thanks for the info I wasn't aware of!

We are DVC members (and I have the DVC front license plate). We are staying at ASMo in September on a cash trip....(saving our points for our Cruise in January!)

Can we park at Beach Club, Boardwalk or other DVC resort (not necessarily Valet) if we wish? Can I do the Valet park even though we aren't staying at a DVC resort this trip?

Free valet service at a DVC resort is a member perk whether or not you are staying at a DVC resort. Show your blue member card.

I'm not positive whether or not it is for dinner only. I certainly wouldn't hurt to ask, if you are staying at a resort that offers valet services, I'd ask there prior to my departure for the breakfast at the GF...or you could call the Disney operator from your room and ask to be connected to the valet station at GF.
