Since dinning is free for our group going in Sept, is there any way our 2 1/2 year old (who has a tremendous appetite) can be added to the dinnig plan?

I don't think that there is unless you also buy them a ticket.

We went last year during free dining with our just under 3 year old. We ate at many buffet and family style table service meals simply because there was no charge for the 2 year old. And we actually used our credits to purchase her counter service meals every time the rest of the group ate. I was figuring that we would have to pay out of pocket at the end of the trip but we actually ended up with one extra the day we left.

You can't unless you want to buy your two year old a package- which would be silly! I called and asked about this because I'm in the same situation. No package- no dining. My thought is that even if your kid isn't a big eater...anyone can eat more than $11 a day at Disney! The exception to this is for DVC members- but I'm not quite sure how that works.

Your child already eats for free at buffet and all you care to eat properties. I guess you could lie and say your child is 3 but paying for tickets will be more expensive than just paying for a few child meals.
