I haven't been keeping up much over the last couple years on the DDP as we've stayed offsite and used TIW. I've read that there may be some people already booking free DDP for Aug 2015?? Is this possible?? Also, read that last year there was a earlier window for us Canadians to get free DDP in August...true??

Bounce backs offer free dining for the following year - so yes it's possible for someone that was there this year during that time.

I'm not Canadian so I don't know the specifics of your free dining. You guys definitely have longer booking windows, but not sure if they're out earlier or not.

Are bounce backs ever a good indicator of what may come for the general public?

What FD dates have there been the last two years in late August?

Hard to say about bb dates. If they get enough rooms filled they could change the dates entirely or not offer the promo at all. POR was included in the bb offer but not for the public.

If you head over to the Mousesavers website they have a lit of historical discount dates.

Mousesavers will be better than my memory, but we've booked free dining starting August 20th for 2 years (2014 and 2015), maybe even in 2013 (I can't remember; we sometimes cancel it to go offsite). We book it when we are there the prior August (we always go last week in August).

FWIW - and, again, Mousesavers is more reliable on dates than I am - IIRC last year general public free dining didn't start until Sep. 1 or so - i.e., much later than the bounceback earliest start date of Aug. 20th.

HTH.

We booked a bounce back off last August for August/September 2015. I will say that Labor Day is late this year so I'm wondering if this will affect the dates for the public offering.

We book a bb every year in August for free dining. It has begun Aug. 20th the last couple of years.

Last year and this year the free dining promotion for the general public wasn't offered until the very end of Aug/ beg. of Sept.

But, sometime in May of this year, free dining was offered to Canadians as early as Aug. 17. It was not a well advertised promotion and many Canadians did not even know about it.

Ya, and now I'm not sure when to plan on going. I just noticed that Labour day isn't till Sept 7th this year, which makes me wonder when the school year will start for the kids here in Ontario?? Maybe I will go the first week of Sept vs. the last week of August??

I'm a teacher in Toronto. I'm pretty sure that the kids won't start until the Tuesday after labour day in our board. It's the teachers that may have to go back early. :sad1:

Either of those weeks are good times to go. :goodvibes

I just remember a number of years ago when our kids were in the Lambton District there was a late labour day....kids went back prior to, and I know the school board took a lot of heat from parents over it.

Totally depends on if you are talking about a general public offer or targeted offers based on PINS or geographical location, or bouncebacks. regarding free dining, Mousesavers tracks only the general public offers.

2013 had no general public dates in August. First date was September 2.

2014 first date was August 31.

If I had to guess about GP offers I'd say the first check-in date for 2015 would likely be August 30. Unless they try to "compensate" for the lateness of Labor Day (Sept. 7), in which case it could be later.

There have been bouncebacks (which you must book while you are still at WDW), PIN codes (you must receive one to use one) and yes, a special offer for Canadian residents, that featured check-in dates starting earlier in August.
