Has anyone heard anything about weather or not there is going to be free dinning offered for 2007? :confused3 If not does anyone know when they might announce it?My husband has to put in his request for vacation and I need to tell him when we are going. If they aren't going to offer it again we will head out in June .If they are then we will wait for it.Any info on this would be a great help.
Thanks all :goodvibes
I know they are already offering it to the UK and I sent an email to them asking but while they wrote back they never answered my question which really makes me nerous.Keeping my figures crossed. :yay:

Its anybody's guess at this point. Last year nobody thought it would be back and they offered it, this year could be a different story. I dont believe that them offering the plan in the UK is any indicator because those are all for much longer stays. Although IMO if alot of people book in hopes of getting a free plan thrown in, disney may see that they already have a full resort W/O giving away the DDP and therefore have no incentive to offer it again.

hey have probablty not decided yet. This year is was announced in April (I think). They will probablty be waiting to see what the bookings look like as they get into the spring to see if bookings need a boost or not.

The fact they offered it to the UK looks good for offering it to the US as we are still only a minority of visitors, saing that they may also feel they need less people taking the offer up.

A lot of speculation and no hard data. If I had to guess, I's say maybe.

We just got back today, and was told that they would be offering Free Dinning for 2007.

The strongest indication that there will be free dining in 2007 is the fact that Disney is already offering the promotion, for the heart of hurricane season 2007, to UK residents. While they could, theoretically, still not offer it to Americans, it does seem doubtful given that they're offering to others. Note that there are some new rules in the UK promotion, including a requirement to purchase five days of admission per person, instead of just one.

Sorry, but there is nothing you can do now (with respect to codes or anything like that) to "automatically" get the free dining promotion once it is announced.

Disney has traditionally offered great promotions during hurricane season to help fill rooms. Last two years it was free dining. Before that it was something like pay for 4 (or 5?) play for 7. Before that it was room rates that were discounted by about 45%.

Free dining is a win for Disney because Disney is actually collecting more money from the guests than they would with the other promotions.

Free dining was extremely popular. I'll join those in assuming free dining may not be as generous in 2007. There might be a minimum stay requirement, longer pass requirement or tighter availability.

A lot of the tour operators here in the UK are offering it for bookings made before 6th nov this year. The vacations need to be taken between 12th Aug and 29th Sept. Also www.waltdisneyworld.co.uk are also offering the same deal. We've just booked with Virgin Holidays. I'm sure they will be offering the same deal in the usa. Hope this helps.

Correct. In '03 it was the Fairytale Package. I believe it was a discount on room and tickets but I don't remember the details. In '04 the year that we went, the discount package for the late summer season was the Play for 4 pay for 7 deal which was a great deal as well - you got a discount off the then UPH ticket plus room.

My gut feeling is they'll offer free dining to U.S. residents, but if not I would expect that maybe another promo would potentially be offered. Either way, we're going to WDW! :teeth:

Since the UK residents are getting it, I would also be surprised if it wasn't offered to everyone.

It isn't about it being hurricane season, September has traditionally been slow (even when we went years without any hurricanes). August had gotten slower as well, as other parts of the summer have also been. January and September have been very slow much of the month, due to kids going back to school, for the most part.

Hi
I'm really hoping for free dining. We had it for the last two years and I'm hoping to take my 3 nieces next year for the first time. My brother and my sister in law don't want to go :confused3 so I'll take the girls and this would save them so much money. They will be 11 and twins (13) so they would all eat adults meals. I think it's a good sign that they will have it since it's already offered in the UK.

I would assume it will be offered again. This year it was offered the first week in April, for booking by June 30. I did read on another website that the Dining Plan will be much more restricted in 2007. I think many restaurants will be removed from the availible choices.

However, they only offer the free dining promotion during the heart of hurricane season. Despite crowds being non-existent, they don't offering it for January.

A longer admission purchase requirement does seem to be among those.

There is no real reason to believe that there will be significantly fewer participating locations . As a matter of fact, the number of participating locations at the beginning of 2007 will have increased over the beginning of 2006 (since many room service locations are now participating). There was a lot of bad information floating around earlier, and evidently a lot of websites never got the message that what they were spreading was indeed bad information.
