Online reservations is showing no availability and nearly any resort we want in August for the free dining promo. W are already booked but I am hoping to modify to add free dining. It is not looking good from what i can see online. going on 2 hours on hold.

You cannot apply any discount if the system shows no availability. I suggest calling, however if your dates are not included in the FD promo inventory you will not be able to apply the discount.

Finally got through and once I did, the wait wasn't bad to speak to an agent. Originally had Club at WL but modified to free dining. Will miss the lounge but seemed silly to not save the money. Hopefully I don't regret the decision later! My parents also got through and modified their reservation...I think the key is just to keep trying the phone repeatedly.

Always try within the next few weeks all the way up to Feb 10, rooms become available later on when changes get made and people rearrange their vacations. Just because right now is hectic doesn't mean you won't find something later. This definitely caught people by surprise.

UPDATE: After almost 4 hours on hold a lovely agent answered the phone. I was able to get free dining at Riverside for our dates in August!! WooHoo!!!!

A blog that I follow who is credited with Disney knowledge.. Said that he thinks (NOT knowing) that there might be some sort of free dining or dining discount offered later for November and December. But that is speculation.
As of right now that is it for free dining (today's release).

October has been excluded for the past couple years now. So that would be a shocking surprise if it became part of free dining.

Not likely. Sept 30 has been then end date for Sept for the Sept-Dec free dining for the past couple years, so nothing new there.

Thanks for the info! Good to know since. We have a package booked for late November and are hopeful we can land free dining.

May be he knows but it's highly irregular for them to have two free dining promos in 1 year. Free dining and then a dining special like reduced flat rate yes

First time poster! Many years observer! I booked July free dining for a SURPRISE Sweet Sixteen trip!! Thanks to a good friend and awesome disney travel agent we had it booked by 8:30 this morning. I had planned on offsite and a 2 or three day ticket but couldn't pass up this deal. I feel a little guilty. Half of our fun is usually planning where to eat. I hate having to decide myself but can't wait to see her surprise as we drive through the gates on her bday!! I had to join because I had to tell someone or I was going to burst with excitement!!!

I hope they add after September.... I always feel like most of November is blocked out, not October. We always want to go in November, but end up in December because of that. They seem to always release now to summer, and then release more in the spring. Praying for that....

All of October and most of November was blacked out last year. I can't see them offering FD in December this year, with SWGE opening. But we shall see...

I said that you cannot apply a discount if there is no availability in the promo inventory. If there is availability of course you can get your promo. I am glad you were able to take advantage of the discount.

It's been several years since October was included for FD. Last time there were 2 releases for FD was 2013: first week of May was August-September. End of July/early August was when "late fall" dates dropped; lots of anxious Disers waiting for that second release.
