I have seen numerous posts already saying " free dining 08 Thanks Mickey" anyone know if this is true?

i don't believe free dining has been announced for general availability but check over on the dining board to be certain.

Since 2005, Disney has been offereing Free Dining during the last part of August until the end of September, give or take a few days. It has already been offered to UK visitors for this September and to those of us who were there at WDW during Free Dining this past September for the dates of August 30 - September 27 2008. The free dining for this year should be announced during the first week of April. The first couple of days it will only be open to Disney Visa holders and then will open up to the general public. We aren't going back this year because the heat was so terrible and we thought we would have low crowds, and the crowds were not that low to us.

A word of advice...we went last year Sept, 2007 for the free meal plan and the reservations for the restaurants were already hard to get in May. Basically, everybody is eating on the free meal plan!

If you think are going to go if they offer it during the same time frame, I would recommend going ahead and booking the more popular restaurants. I believe you can make them as much as 6 months in advance. You can always cancel them later. You don't have to have a room reservation in order to make dinner reservations.
