Free Dining

when free dining came out, I had to give up my AAA discount ($300) to get the free DDP (Cost $1063 - actually got $1900 in free food) well worth losing AAA discount and we did stay at a Deluxe although many have said it's not worth it at a Deluxe.

For the most part (ymmv) Disney doesn't allow "stacking" discounts.

AAA 15% - 20% discount = a discount
Free dining = a discount

Yes, hence the statement "exception to the rule".

To the OP that called 2 AAA offices, I'd recommend asking them to call their reps @ Disney to confirm, or simply look at the Disney travel brochure AAA puts out (assuming they do one again this year). It listed the package rates, which were consistently less (values and mods only) than either those quoted by a widely-referred Disney travel agency AND direct quotes from Disney. As the number of packages available under any promotion are limited, it's OK by me if there are those that insist this double-discount does not exist - it lessens the competition for the offer.

I'd guess that this does not apply to the deluxes as the free dining is enough of a draw to sell those rooms. As I said, Disney marketers seem to be pretty good at their jobs - I think they know their markets rather well.
