we have a split ressie in Oct. OKW then BLT. I will NOT change BLT but we were going to do DDP during OKW part of trip & now, I'm thinking maybe just save the points & go w/the free dining VISA promo? Anyone else thinking that way? Have AP so would just get 1 day tix to use later.....:cheer2:

Also, 1 poor little point is borrowed for this part of trip.....will I use it if I cancel more than the 30 days out? I always get confused on that...have Dec. use year so I want to make a decision before the weekend is out.

Thanks for any help...

Unless I counted too many fingers, your banking deadline should be July 31. If you cancel your OKW ressie prior to that, you should be able to apply the one borrowed point to the BLT ressie and bank the unused points. Be sure to ask MS to apply that borrowed point to the BLT ressie.

If you cancel after July 31, all of the points you cancel would be "use or lose" by November 30.

If you cancel within 30 days of arrival, the points would not only be "use or lose," they would also be in holding account...which means they can only be used for ressies 60 days out or less.

Thanks. I didn't think about adding the 1 pt to BLT ressie so as not to lose. I get so confused & try not to borrow points. Doing the trip w/OOP + BLT ressie would save me around 60 pts. & add an extra day to our trip. Since points are all used up for this year, it would be nice to have some saved! Haven't done that in a few years! Why is it we've added 80 pts in the last few years but have none saved! Darn those points...

Just for the record and future reference, swapping the point on the reservations is only possible if you did not use home resort advantage in booking initially. In this case I assume that is the case. Also, some CMs are more proficient at doing this than others. Make SURE that the CM you speak with knows how to do this without canceling and rebooking. It wouldn't be worth jeopardizing your BLT reservation, especially for only 1 point. If the CM seems at all reluctant, hang up and call back.
FWIW, I think your new plan sounds like a good one. Have a great trip!

If you can do it without any loss of points, Yes I would do it. I would love to be able to do this once to add to my Disney experiences.

Enjoy!:thumbsup2

Thanks for the heads up Jean. No, it is not a home resort but good info to have. Will decide by tomorrow & let you guys know.....still "running the #s' but it's DH's b'day while we are there so that adds another layer to it....getting b'day cele card & already booked at Le Cellier. Anyone know if that will be a problem? Changing the dining ressie # if I cancel. Would hate to lose that b'day dinner...

No, it shouldn't be a problem. ADR's have nothing to do with lodging...unless possibly you booked that LC ADR as a +10 ADR.

Many people staying offsite eat onsite, and even local residents who aren't even visiting parks eat onsite. As a matter of fact, Disney has a special Florida resident Epcot-after 4 PM annual pass just for that purpose.
