Free Dining with AP Question

when you book your stay for the free dining and you are an AP holder, it says you need to buy at least a one day park ticket. So, am I correct to assume that you are getting free dining for the length of your stay, and not just one the one day you have bought a park ticket for. If I stay at POP 5 days, we are all getting 5 days of free dining.

Also, Im going with my 3 kids, we all have AP's. My friend is going with her 2 kids, but her son does NOT have an AP. Can she she buy all the one days off of me to use for her son? He is 9. Thanks so much. I just realized a day ago this all needs booked by June 4th!!!

The length of the DDP is based on the length of stay, so yes you're covered for the whole trip.

As far as the tickets, there's a different thread that's posted (I think it was on the resorts board) about this, and the answer Disney gave them was this.

The one day passes can be used by anyone. Until they are activated, they aren't "assigned". You can give them to another member of your party, or you can use them as the basis to upgrade for another AP in the future. Sounds like your friends son can use them.

Just realize that the base passes are non-hopper so you'll be limited to one park per day.

We are doing this. We are Fl. PAP holders. We booked 7 nights at POP w/Free Dining and bought 1 day tickets for each member of our party.

We have free dining for 7 days/nights. We will use the 1 day tickets later for a weekend trip.

We went to WDW in March and had a 3 day fl. resident pass. We are going back for free dining in Sept.

We have to buy 1 base day ticket for each person. Then we are taking our 3 day passes and buying our season pass. Then next year we are using the one day base and renewing our season.

I figured this all out with the help of the good folks here!

Dining credits go by number of nights you stay, not days. So if you stay 4 nights and 5 days, you get 4 credits each, TS, CS and SC.....per person.

Not to be a party pooper, but are you going to make your friend pay you full price for the 4 one-day MYW tickets? At $67.10 for the "adult" one-day ticket and $55.38 for the "child" ticket, that's quite a bit for her to have to pay for. Just something for your friend to think about.

I was thinking the same thing. Your friend would be better off upgrading her DS's pass to a 5 day pass-a lot cheaper than purchasing all 1 day passes and then she could pay the $40 to make it a hopper on that 1 pass.

I am planning an Aug trip with me, DH, 3 kids, and an adult friend. My friend, I and 1 child have an AP. I booked the trip with 1 day tickets for all and I will upgrade my DH's and other 2 children's tickets to hopping 8 day tickets. If I renew my AP next year I can use my 1 day pass or I can upgrade to more days on any future trip.

I'm an AP holder and booked free dining with a 1 day pass each as required to get the package. As I understood it though, they don't offer the no expiration option on a 1 day ticket, which means the 1 day pass expires at the end of the trip. I may be wrong, however, and would love to be corrected!

the 1 day passes will not expire unless you activate them and the only way to do that is to use them at a park, so they are good until used.

We have APs and will keep the 1 day tickt to use againt renewing the AP. The other tickets can be upgraded and the more days it is upgraded to the less the overall cost per day.

To be fair to your freind I'd let her upgrade the tickets she has and you keep yours ready for renewing at a later date.

a little OT, but last year we went on the free dining in Sept. We are AP holders and we got the 1 day base tickets. Well... lo and behold we LOST the room keys.

So on this last trip (May) we went back to CSR (where we stayed last year) and they found our original reservation information (they hold reservation info for 1 year, btw). They were able to reissue the 1-day base tickets for us and then we used those as credit towards our renewal! The base tickets were never used and they saw that on their system and they were able to reissue them on that basis. What a great deal - we were able to save over $200 on the 1 day tickets + $50 discount for renewing!
