Free Dining - What is it all about?

Okay with the rumors and speculations of the free dining promo possibly coming out on Monday for Visa Cardholders, I really want to know what its all about. We used the dining plan on our last stay and liked it because it was great being able to order whatever without worrying about sharing to cut down the cost etc. but disliked it because we ended up paying for most of my DD12's meals because she didn't want to order off the adult menu, and we didn't plan wisely which made us feel rushed when it came down to meal times. Now is the fact that it is free really worth changing my August vacation dates from the 19-21 into the after the 24th range, or no? Also, if i booked so that the 24th fell into the middle of my vacation, would i get the dates before that free dining as well? Thanks in advance for you patience in yet another free dining question.

Well the jury is still out on how Disney will handle it this year. Because other things have changed for 2008. Last year the promo was even if you checked in on the last day of the promo you still recieved free dining for your entire stay. There is speculation as to if that will be changed this year or not. I am guessing you would probably not get the days before the promo starts, but you would get the dates after, but don't hold me to that statement. To me if you are only changing your vacation by a few days, I would say yes it is worth it. You should probably save roughly $500.00 with the free dining. It would be worth it to me.
