Free dining-what I was told today

I called Disney today working on our travel plans for next August. We were going with or without free dining. We will be at WL 8/14-8/23.

As we were finishing, the CM told me to be sure to check back in May or June for free dining. I asked her was she telling me to check back because it MAY happen, or because it WILL happen. She said it WILL happen, beginning 8/11/07.

Just passing on what I was told. This information not guaranteed to be accurate. All rebates to dealer, your actual mileage may vary, past performance is no guarantee of future results, and any other disclaimer you can think of.

it makes sense since thats when it offered to the Brits

Hmmmmmmmmm, I might be in too. Not sure if we're renewing our AP's. Would be nice to try the dining plan. Maybe we'll do AKL in a pool view with the free dining or Contemporary Wing.

Thanks for posting!

We are booked with the dining plan and 10 day hoppers. If and when the free dining special is announced you should be able to simply modify your existing reservation with a lower total. That's my plan, anyway.

Thanks for posting - this made my night, no whole week!!! (Maybe even month!!) I will be SO SO SO happy if this CM is on the mark! We're going regardless also, BUT we will be able to stay at a much nicer hotel if they do it! :cool1: :sunny: :goodvibes

Hmmmm......AKL, or Contemporary sound good to me too!!!!!!!!!!

I will be really happy too. I have 8 family members who booked a great deal for their airfare on my ALMOST guarantee that free dining will be available. The airfare is non-refundable, so I will have some MAJOR explaining to do if free dining, or at least a close to equivalent discount isn't announced.

They already offered it to the Brits and everyone there now till the end of the year can get it. It is possible the rooms will fill up and they won't offer it later.
I am going in Dec and hoping they have enough rooms left for my trip in Sept.
I loved free Dinning last August, but it sure was hot!

If you book now and free dining is offered, would you have to cancel the existing reservation to add the free dining promo?
Yes, you would (or at least have your package changed, based on availability) BUT if too many people reserve on spec, the resorts will appear artificially full and, well, Disney may decide they don't NEED to offer any enticement...

True ...never thought of it that way ! Maybe we shouldn't be in such a hurry to book ressies for Aug./Sept..Good Thinking. I'm looking forward to planning an end of summer trip before school starts in late August ...hoping for FREE Dining!

Hmmm...that starts the day before my birthday... I may need to go and celebrate my birthday there ;) I just wish you could get it with an AP - we are already going for 10 days in May. :woohoo:

I believe in this too. Makes you wonder why there is very limited availability at the standard rooms at the WL and CR, and then folks complain because there is no code for those rooms that are holding. I never make my ressie unless I plan to pay rack rate for them. I plan to go to WDW next August and book our DVC resort (2 bedroom). We already have talked of adding a couple of days on our trip at a value resort if the same package is released again this year. We want to be mentally ready to jump on the package when/if its announced. We are going regardless, but if the free ddp is announced, we'll just go for a longer amount of time. I actually did the math via the website and printed how much the package should cost at the resorts I'm interested in. We just don't know who in the family is in and who are out, but will discuss that over the holidays, as no decision is needed until 2007.

I really do think that the deal will not be a sweet as it was the last two years based on the current restrictions imposed on the folks in the UK. They will probably have a minimum on the tickets or nights booked or even both. We need only 3 nights at the start of our trip prior to getting into our BCV rental. My intentions were to order the 7 day tickets at the beginning of our stay on the regular reservation so the minimum on tickets would not be a problem but the 3 nights only may be. Still keeping my fingers crossed, it only would save us $350.91 on the dining for the three of us for the 3 nights, not a ton of money but I sure could use if for many other little extras!

very cool! I wanna go back and BF wants his sister to go when we go back with us...maybe I can get him to pay for the trip!!!! Or well...maybe I'll have to skip this year b/c I'm going back to school. That puts a damper on things :sad2: ok so how do I make this work???

Agghh! Never thought of that either! The Disney Game never stops does it?! First you decide when & where to stay, then you need to watch for codes, then go have a magical time, and then you come home & are ready to book your next trip & wait for more codes!! :rotfl:

It's the Disney Polka . . .

:rockband: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

We went in '05 at the end of Sept and qualified, I am now thinking of doing a cruise in August and a few days at Disney before, I'd love to get free dining and longer tickets that we could use after the cruise also. What were the dates or does anyone know where I could look. I agree, totally the disney polka!
I too am going back to grad school and will probably need a break by the time summer/fall rolls around. I try to keep disney in the back of my mind, but all the commercials, the flyers for my disney visa specials, etc.. and of course my kids all keep bringing me back to reality!! I LOVE Disney
