Free Dining Watch 2009 - Dates Released!! Update post 1

When free dining comes out, if it is for the general public, you will be able to get it. If you can't find the code (which, you will be able to as it will be all over here and mousesavers.com and on the Disney website), the CM will usually help you anyway.
That's a good point I haven't seen anyone else bring up.
I have often told the CM "I have the code... got it off Mousesavers... wait just a second while I find it..." and they say "Its ___" So they usually know the codes. I have surprised a CM or 2 with a code that they hadn't heard of, but one as common as free dining... Just mention Mousesavers. They will know which one you are referring to. They all know Mousesavers quite well!

BTW... several of the tips on Mousesavers (particularly in the food/snacks) were submitted by yours truly!:cool1: :snooty: :snooty: :cool1: :happytv:

Anyone hear anything about NOv yet- I know that last year they had a deal going in Oct, Nov, and Dec--hope it happens agian this year!

The free dining for later in the fall was for Disney Visa holders, and wasn't offered until much later in the year (perhaps not until fall??? I didn't use it, so I can't remember.)

I had a trip planned for December booked last June. Sometime MUCH later, I found out about the December free dining. I had to rebook, as I was one day off from it working, but just booked a 5 day package plus one day as room only and saved over $300!

I have a Dinsey Visa card, but had received NO notice of this. I know better now and will just watch the boards!

regarding all the questions about park tickets in your package for free dining..
last year, I went with my two friends. I had an annual pass, so I didn't need any park tickets ( I was also a CM at the disney store at that time, right before disney took back over and then we closed, I got 3 one day park tickets.) so what we did, was book the package as the room + one day base tickets for each of us. then I gave my friends each two one day tickets ( the three I got as a CM and the one I bought for myself for the package) then when we checked in, they just upgraded their passes to 6 day park hoppers...
does that make sense??? My travel agent assured me that you HAD to purchase at LEAST one day tickets for everyone in the party. AND.. everyone in the party has to have the same tickets booked with the room. once you get there, they don't care what you upgrade to.
hope that clarifies the ticket question
Why did you get a free upgrade from POP? I am staying for the first time at All Star MOvies is that a nice place? Did you do the dining plan?

Planning my first trip to Disney. Going Sept 8-12th. When and if the free dining is announced will I be able to book with it over the net or will I have to call? I'm going solo and I'm so excited I can't stand it, I think I'm driving all my friends and family crazy so it's nice to know I have an outlet here.

I feel the same way...it's so nice to know that there are so many Disney fanatics like myself!

Yes. Whether that link will be available first thing that morning, who knows.
As long as you don't have any major special requests, you should have no problem booking online. Make sure you look for the link though, as there is no place to input codes. :wizard:

Hmm I just checked the special offers page and it seems like everything is gone except the buy 4/3 deal banner! is this happening for anyone else?? all the writing is gone and its just a blank box and another box about florida resident offer..

Probably nothing but who knows?! :confused3

I have a quick question with booking online
If i book my airline tickets threw the disney website, when i click on the flight I want and the price updates, does that price include airfare for both me and my DBF?
I imputed that we have two adults coming!
I just wanted to confirm!

I would LIKE to think this means they are going to put free dining up next !!!
I wanted to wait until it was officially announced to book our airfare since the kids will have to miss school...but we found airfare for about $200pp w/ the dates/times we wanted (had to come in a day later than we wanted last time to save a signifigant chunk of change!)...PRAYING for Free DDP--would save the 7 of us $250/day!!!!!!!

Hi,

I'm new to the boards and to Disney! First trip planned for December 2009. I have a question about the Pin Codes that everyone is talking about, what are they and how do you get them?

Thanks :)

nobody knows how they pick who gets the pin codes. I have been there many times and filled out surveys, signed up for vacation planning videos, etc.. I have never gotten one. as long as you are registered on disney's site, with your email and home address, they have you in their system. How they pick who gets what, is anyone's guess.

good luck

Quesiton; when you 'order' the DDP (free or not), are the number of days to purchase flexible?

For example: Lets say I arrive early Monday morning - I know I would be eating throughout that day. My visit is for 5 days, 4 nights. If I am leaving on Friday morning, is that day counted is the DDP - even though I, more than likely, won't be eating at Disney (even breakfast)?

Me too. My family thinks I'm nuts. I don't even talk about my trips to them anymore. Some people just don't get it!!! :)

Thank God for my kids!! we are planning a trip with my two younger sons (19 and 16) and the 19 yr old's girlfriend. she was here last night and my son turned the tv off and called a "planning meeting" it was so funny. I put him in charge of picking everywhere we are eating. I think they are more excited than I am, if that's possible !!! but I check back here several times a day to see if the free dining is announced yet. we based our entire trip around that, so we are hoping and praying its announced soon, so we don't have to worry about it.

The dining plan is per night of your stay. So, if you are there for 4 nights, on the regular dining plan, you would have 4 counter services, 4 table services and 4 snacks. You can save some meals/snacks for your last day if you want, I know that you can use the credits until midnight the day you check out.

I'm getting so excited about the free dining...I hope I'm not let down.

DH and I are going back without the kids in mid-October and I'm hoping it will be offered during our dates! We have already booked our package and made our deposit just so that we know we will have the hotel we chose.

Does anybody know if the FD plan is the plus dining, will they let you upgrade to deluxe for a fee, just wondering.?

I have no idea, I heard that a lot of people got upgrades from POP that summer, possibly because they overbooked. but it was offered to my friend, who the reservation was in her name.
As for All Star Movies... I've stayed there and its nice. I like all the icons and the hype and noise.. to me THAT is Disney. unfortunately we were placed WAY in the back in Herbie the Love Bug. it was a long walk to the food court and buses. I would have preferred someplace closer to the front of the resort. but it was still nice. I stayed at All star sports last summer and it was also satisfactory. you can't go wrong anywhere on property as far as i'm concerned and for me, its not worth spending all the extra money for a bigger hotel, when I'm only sleeping there.
