I just booked a split stay in August for which we will have free dining for 6 table service meals in a 14 night stay. I am looking to get the most bang for the buck. Which restaurants should I book during the free dining portion of our trip?

Not happy that the dates are later this year....but that's another story. I also am an annual passholder and have TIW....so I'm looking for the best way to use the 6 free table service options. All help appreciated!!!

bump....no one else does this? No ideas?

You can't have 6 TS credits over 14 days.

If you have a split stay, I assume part is 6 nights with free dining and the other is 7-8 nights on a different kind of reservation. So you would have 6 TS credits to use over 6 nights.

I also don't understand your title - free dining vs. TiW?

so maybe people are just confused by your post.

Regardless, is your question just which restaurants people would recommend to use your 6 TS credits?

I thought I was clear in the free dining was a portion of our stay. I have TIW for the rest. I am curious to know which restaurants warrant the use of the free dining credit vs. the table in wonderland discount. I've done the big math...meaning that the split stay is a good deal, but not clear on the dining end. Just got back from 10 days with TIW only.

Not completely sure I understand your post, but you have to use your DDP just on the portion of the trip that it's planned for (not spread out over the 14 days) because it expires. Then your TIW would be an excellent choice for the remainder of your stay.

I think this is a situation where it'll be best if you look at the menus of the various restaurants, figure out what you're going to order, then calculate if it's better to use the DDP or TIW. It's hard to say what restaurant will be the best use of the DDP or TIW without knowing what you would order. :confused3

At many restaurants you could use either, depending on what you order. For example if you go to Le Cellier and everyone orders the least expensive entrees and only some of your party has dessert, then probably TIW. However, if everyone orders the more expensive filets or steaks and has dessert, then more likely DDP.

One generalization: most people feel 2 credit meals aren't a good use of the DDP.

Also, Teppan Edo and Yak & Yeti don't take TIW.

Any buffets and other all-you-care-to-eat meals (character meals especially) seem to be better with DDP credits, since the prices have become so inflated, even when you have TiW. So if you are planning character meals, I'd suggest using those during the free dining stay.

Any restaurant you pay a la carte, you can order appetizers or split entrees and get a Tables in Wonderland discount. You can do those types of restaurants when not using the DDP.

Thank you. This was what I was looking for.
