After throwing around ideas...free dining(if they offer it in Nov) versus getting tickets cheaper now (through undercover tourist)

here is what we are looking:

family trip with just us staying on site
2 sons and families staying offsite for 2 weeks

we are annual passholders...so to get free dining we would have to pay an extra $375 for the 2 adult tickets....(in April we were able to transfer our tickets that were connected to our room to regular tickets for our one son and daughter in law for later use, but they said we could not transfer these with the promotion, which I don't understand because it was the 20% off room plus tickets were discounted in April promotion)

Now if they had not changed the old dining plan it might be worth it...but just to get 2 quick service meals and 1 snack a day.....

back to tickets .....Disney vs undercover tourist

disney 5 day...$307.79
undercover.....$270.95
total savings..$36.84 each

child...$287.55
$251.95
$35.60 each

we still needed to buy 2 adult and 2 child tickets so for a savings of $144.88
I think it was worth buying the tickets now...we can use our saving toward meals.
Plus we will find a room discount AAA or something

sometimes free dining is not the way to go even though it sounds great
