Free Dining Upgrade

I will be visiting DW in Sept. 2020. I already have a reservation for a 10-day stay at WL with the DDP and park hoppers. I have already paid about half the balance. Hopefully, when Free Dining is announced I will be able to get the regular DP for free. What's my best bet to make this happen? See if I can change/ modify my reservation via MDE? Call to amend? If this happens, will I just receive a credit on MDE? Thank you!

There are a few ways to do this and it all depends how the day goes. If you have the modify button then that would work and you wouldn't have to pay the $200 deposit. If not you can call but lines are usually really busy and you could be on hold for awhile. You can make a new reservation, pay the $200 deposit and then cancel your existing reservation and get a refund.

This is also where it is really helpful to use a travel agent - they can do all that legwork for you and you just have to approve the deal they're able to find.
