Free dining upgrade???

We are going to WDW during free dining but I read you can upgrade for a fee to the DDP.. can someone explain this to me... I am so confused

Did you book using the free DDP code? If not, call DW and ask if they have a room available for the free DDP.

Do you mean that you booked a room without the free DDP? I'm confused. What do you have booked already?

People have upgraded to the deluxe DDP for 32/day extra.

We booked our package with WDW to include Free Dining. That is the basic Dining Plan. We decided that we wanted to Upgrade to Dlx Dining (3 meals per day & 2 snacks per day...can be used anytime anyway we like) so I called and WDW upgraded our package for $32 per adult per day and $9.99 per child per day.

Normally the cost of the Dlx Dining Plan is $32 plus the cost of the Basic Dining plan. But during Free Dining you can upgrade for just the cost of the Dlx (you don't pay for the Basic Dining portion as you would normally be required to do).

Hence the great deal we are all going on about...Dlx Dining at Half Price!!!

Basic Dining Plan includes:
1 Counter Service Credit per day
1 Table Service Credit per day
1 Snack Credit per day

Deluxe Dining Plan includes:
3 Meals Per Day (counter OR table service) per day
2 Snacks Per Day per day

On either plan you can do the Dining Shows (like Hoop De Doo Review) and Signature Dining (nicer restaurants)...which all require 2 Table Service Credits.

Note: On both plans you have the flexibility of using your credits whenever you want. The Basic Plan has specific credits for either Table or Counter service. The Deluxe Plan your meal credits are interchangeable for either Table or Counter Service (whichever you prefer).

Ok I am sorry I should have been more clear but I was typing with a 2 year old on my lap. We booked a pakcage with the free dining but then I read somewhere that you can upgrade to the delux package...


so is it $32 a day per person for the upgrade????

Yep, $32 for each adult per day. DS and I upgraded for our trip!

Yep, it's $32 a night per adult and $10 a night per kid (3-9). We're upgrading too during free dining and have booked HDDR, SoA with the extra dining credits and now don't have to pay OOP for CRT. We love the fact that its 3 meals a day (any way you want to use them, although most of ours will be used as TS), 2 snacks per person per night and a refillable mug for each person in our family.
