So canadian, when you say to those going before Aug 14TH no later, does that mean you need to be going home by that date or arriving by that date? I notice that the percent off discount only discounts my first 2 days if I put it in to get a quote, so it is truly only good until that date, but I know some offers such as free dining and 4/3, you only had to arrive by the last day. Just curious. I am sure you won't know for sure, but any guesses as to whether this new discount is a room only one again or a package type one that might help me, being we arrive on the 13TH.

And BTW, I know there are much worse threads out there. I avoid those all together. This one I don't avoid, I just tend to ignore the criticisms and just look for the facts.

Sorry - I don't know.. But I suspect that August 14th date is 'hard' for promos up to that date.. again - I don't know. And won't till whatever offer is supposedly coming, actually arrives.

Responding to the PP regarding POR supposedly being near capacity for September...

Another possibility is that they are holding off on some inventory for POR due to a possible refurb? Permits have just been pulled for POFQ.

An excellent point. Yes. The refurb may not truly get going til fall - hard to guess at this point.

They are refurbing all the guest rooms. Won't probably even get going til June or July I'd guess if they JUST filed the paperwork.

Even IF on some weird fluke it started tomorrow -- they typically close down whole buildings at a time and do that building and then move on to the next. So it doesn't impact guests at all most times.

I haven't heard a single complaint about the refurb at Pop Century impacting any guests.

Thnaks canadianguy. I will probably stick with PoFQ then. Our original plan was CSR and we love CBR, so i will think about it.

I know!!! I would use it but we really don't want to change our dates! It's hard for my Mom to get off work during May & June!!
Hopefully they will do something else for September!

I think they kept the bones this time and threw out tendons, ligaments, cartilege and other useless bits instead.. !!


Seriously tho - I'm sure that some families with small kids will see a great value in not having to pay for a ticket for them..

Im jumping in kind of late here! Ive only read a few posts on this subject, so I may have missed some of what was said. I just wanted to say this...

A couple of years ago I stayed at the Contemporary. They were doing construction right under my nose (literally) at Chef Mickeys and right beside my nose at BLT. I thought..how awful..when I checked in.

A week later, I remembered hearing jackhammers for about 10 minutes during my entire trip. Keep in mind, construction crews only work until approx 4 - 5pm. I was at the parks all day and when I returned, they were gone. Obviously BLT construction was too far to hear the guys inside hammering or painting. Chef Mickeys express was right under my room (I was on the 6th fl), but with my door closed, I barely heard anything and again, they were working mostly when I wasnt at the resort. I think what bothered my a little tiny bit was hearing the "Celebrate Mickey Mouse" song every 1/2 hour at Chef Mickeys!! A song I will never ever get out of my head!!

Dont let construction ruin your stay!
