When I made my CRT my credit was charged but was told when I get down there as long as I give them 48+ hrs ahead time & tell them I will be using my dining points they will credit your card back & no changing the ADR. I did this this past December & used my dining points & got my money back on my credit card. maybe I misread your post if so sorry:)

Yes, I was also trying to say you have to do it while there. If you were to call a month in advance to get your card refunded they would cancel your adr and schedule a new one.

Why R U amazed? They don't release promos to make people happy. They release them to fill rooms. They're not "making you wait". They're releasing promos in a way that will benefit them.

If you don't like what i type feel free to hit the little ignore key next to my name. I realize how Disney works and I really don't need your lecture to teach me. Thanks anyway though.

Oh good grief...can we NOT have another argument start regarding promos? As if we're not on edge about FD enough as it is...

Okay. Everyone is a little on edge patiently ( :lmao: ) waiting for something to be released. The Disney Marketing Department is doing an amazing job, don't you think? We may be a small percentage of WDW visitors, but we are nothing if we aren't passionate about our planning. Think of it - in past years FD has already been offered by this date (mostly). If they are smart - and we know they are - they have people lurking in here and on all the social networks listening to chatter and using it in THEIR planning. What makes this year different? WWOHP. They know that Harry will be a big draw for Universal so they are waiting to see what they offer and how people respond to it.

I am waiting popcorn:: like all of you and waiting, waiting, waiting. If FD is not offered or if the values are QS only and if lower airfare isn't available, we will be going somewhere else this year. Not a big loss considering we were just there in Aug09, but a loss all the same.

Disney will release their Fall deal when they are ready to release it. Not when we WANT them to release it. Done. :surfweb:

Flame on!

My gut is telling me they're going to release it. FD *will* be released. That's just what I think.

Currently I am booked WITH Free Dining in September. I booked bounce back, last year.

If they offered Bounce Back, and if I'm not mistaken, they offered FD to the UK, why wouldn't they offer it? It's done pretty well the past few years.

I think they will - but that is NOT insider information. It's what you asked for....gut.

I feel the same. Here's hoping we're right:wizard:

I feel the same too. I think it's coming - and sooner rather than later. I think that because a few people said that we would hear this week and we didn't, people started assuming the worst.

I think I'm developing an ulcer.

I am taking this way too seriously.

I must need a vacation even worse than I thought I did. This is going to be a long 4 months. :hourglass:

I agree......I am stressed out!!!! lol........

My fiance and I are going on our honeymoon Aug 29th for 7 days and I would LOVE to have free dining. But, even if it's not offered, we're still doing the dining plan! It's worth it to us...we love to eat! lol! I'm hoping for some kind of discount though, especially since it's off season! Maybe we'll all know something soon! :)

I'm thinking about perhaps re-arranging my vacation...scenario's galore going through my mind, Universal First/ shorten disney portion....switch to all Universal, keep things as they are, GOD FORBID CANCEL!! and save the money for a trip to England next summer..... oh, it's all going in a big loop and I just dont' know anymore. I was hoping for FD to save a few hundred dollars. I never seem to get lucky and have a pin or discount code I can use in my inbox.....it looks like we'll just be stuck paying full rack rate, and that is sad! :headache:
I sure hope that there is some kind of discount we can use for mid to end August, and I will kick myself forever for being in Disney Sept 1-12, 2009, having that BB flyer in my room at AKL and NOT booking it!!! AGGGGGGG, and this is my last trip too, so I can't even learn from my previous mistake :rotfl:
IF....and I truly mean IF (kids are in late teens/ hubby really doesn't care for Disney except in small bouts).....IF I am lucky, I MAY get him to think about another Disney trip in about 5 more years or so!!!!
Oh, the agony that will be after this summer saying goodbye to my happy place :sad1:
I will have to enjoy this trip IMMENSLY, discount or naught!

Forget the ulcer...my baby is due in a few weeks and I can't decide what will send me into labor early...MORE waiting or an announcement before my due date! :lmao:

Congratulations on your wedding!!

We are going the 30th. I'm surprising my son. I booked our flights, and made some ADRs, and will most likely do the dining plan even if we pay for it. We've done it the past 2 trips, and we love to eat too, plus I'm thinking in the heat of august it will be nice to have a cool air conditioned restaurant to take a break in every day, and I like having it all paid for before we go.

CanadianGuy- Thanks for keeping us all updated on the rumors and speculation. I'm know it ain't easy.

Ummmmmm, you could buy something for your 2 yo to eat ...... Sometimes people act like they can't eat anything other than what's on th plan.

Of course I can buy more food, it would just be nice to have the extra snack. When we were there in Aug. most places give the under 3 crowd food. He got his own food at CRT even though he wasn't on the dining plan. Noodles and a sundae. He was also allowed to eat whatever at the buffets. I think most people know they can eat food not on the plan!

Just to make a note.. about 2 years ago the didnt offer it till the first monday of april for vcmembers and the following thursday for the general public! Plus we have to think about Easter!! They dont want to make announcements easter week bc they are busy as is there. So I am not to worried. If they do not offer something this coming week then I would say to worry. But as of right now I think we are all right guys!!

I so feel for you! This is why ever since my first year of obsessively checking the disboards for FD, I make sure I always book the bounce back before we leave Disney to come home.

I agree with a previous poster. People are stressing themselves over nothing. I truly believe that we'll officially hear something about the fall promotion this up coming week. It wouldn't surprise me if were free dining again.

I agree. I think Monday will be the most likely scenerio. Easter weekend people are on vacation, and Disney is busy. I guess we will wait!

Yes!! Its all we can do! I have faith they will offer a deal in some shape or form:)

I have been following this thread since it started. I really have nothing to offer on inside info but am curious about the *fuss* Disney is going to offer something? I have run the numbers with the free dining, 4/3, 30/40% etc... and it seems like whatever the deal is it's within about $100 of each other. Am I totally off? We're booked, our plane tickets are booked and we're going so I'm just waiting to see what happens. But from everything I've read something will be offered and it seems like whatever *it* is will keep my costs around the same ballpark? Am I totally off?
